The idea could be a UN peace corp for which China could provide troops that will help the SLA to protect the Sri Lankan Tamils from any militant insurgents.

UN forces are welcome to guard the borders!

When the Tamils are in the govt's camp and rant against the ltte, the spectators seems to believe them compare to the lies of Sinhalese.

we all know he is a liar that do not mean he is any how so important. because all southern politicos are liars and kathir will not make any difference.

Is there any Tamil politician that you might have confidence in ? Someone who could survive the danger standing in the multiple crossfires of the various armed fractions.

Is there any Sinhalese politician that could pass your test in terms of honesty and credibility ?

With borders you most likely mean a Tamil Eelam on Sri Lankan soil and a war that will never end because the majority of Sri Lankan people will never agree to that.

I doubt, that any nation will risk the lives of their troops on that one. Help to create peace and a unitary, functional democracy seems more feasible.

A few Tamils here told me, that 70-80% of all Sri Lankan Tamils sympathize with the LTTE. Mainly in the North with much less in the South.

Isn't that enough votes to make it into parliaments and go a political way ?

freedom
what would make the sinhalese to formulate a solution(if poss within a period of time)? if they cannot agree to the ltte proposed ISGA?

if you think , the one you are thinking will makethem to formulate solution and the action of yours will create a vacuum? then what do you do?

Recently you said, that something similar to federal Swiss structure might be worth a try.

That would make it easy for the UN to send a corp that could assist the SLA with their multiple tasks of protecting the Sri Lankan Tamils from militant groups.

Swiss federal structure is a very elaborated system that has been fine-tuned during many decades and constantly adapted to the new realities.

In a country much smaller than Sri Lanka, with a population of 7.5 millions (of which + 25% foreigners) and having 4 national languages (German, French, Italian and Romantsch) + English, people are living in harmony and respect each other?s culture.

One significant key to this success is also the ability to reach compromises, something you don?t learn overnight and which is definitely not a strong point of an average Sri Lankan.

In my opinion this structure would be a good reference point for as long as it?s adapted to the local situation and not just a copy and past.
