Even General Kobbekaduwa was killed by LTTE medical Officers who had access to the Runaway Tarmac.
I awlays look at all these ridiculous tabloids in the grocery stores and wonder what kind of idiot buys them...but it seems my questions are answered when people like AnuD spew forth such absurd 'tabloid' stories...
Senura good explanation, thanks, hope it penetrates some of the thick skulls though... Edited By - Revy - 30 Aug 2007 19:54:07 GMT |

In one point of view this is not a joke. They are educated people, any educated person who live in the clutches of LTTE, does not have any faith in LTTE and understand the situation. These students just think they deserve better.
But the actual story is different, many sinhaleese students appointed in the North have not gone to their places as situation is very bad there. It?s a usual thing LTTE come in to government hospitals and take the doctors to their camps to treat wounded carders. And there is no guarantee for their safety as there is no SLA involvement. And its common fact that LTTE using hospitals as human shields to attack SLA (they did same in Sampoor). Because of this situation many student who selected to go to hospitals in North to complete their internships, resigns from government and work for private hospitals in Colombo or go overseas to work. I know this as a fact as my brother did his internship in kalmunai hospital and many of his batch mates resigns from the government.
So who should fill the gap in Northern hospitals (hellooo there are still humans living in North, not only tigers, we cant win people back without giving them much needed facilities)? We can not help this. Only solution I can imagine is the same solution what that minister did, appointing there own doctors to that area from that area. Its just make sense (when there is no options left).

(a) Those who live in North are not at all pro-LTTE, whatever the means they resort to get out of there must not be inhibited.
(b) It is not possible for the doctors from rest of the country to so the job in North safely at present time. Therefore, local graduates are the answer until you get reid of LTTE and its pistol gang.
(c) If those who perform well get to go to hospitals with better facilities, then that must apply to all graduates regardless of the school.
(d)Not only in the North, but also in rural parts of rest of the country are facing the problem of not having enough doctors, what is the solution for that?
(e) It is good if graduates from North work in rural hospitals in other provinces, to understand the real situation, compared to that fabricated by extremist. |
