Kural,

It's really not what I want for my people.
I didn't know that someone could be so stupid.

I may be stupid but at least I have come to a fair conclusion about eelamists goal. Many strong ltte supporters have quoted here and elsewhere that the suffering of the Tamils in the NE is just a small short sacrifice and (very) soon they will all be rejoicing. I was only going by these when I made that statement. So if I'm brainwashed then I've been brainwashed by eelamists...omg...I'll soon be supporting vp and the ltte and will become another sinhala kotiya.

Anyway, how would you say that the sufferings and hardships faced by the Tamils in the NE have evolved pre and post 30 years or so back? Have their conditions improved, worsened or remained the same?

It is very sad to see a vulnerable family with very young children struggling to run their daily life in the open without any comfort .
it is the same plight of almost all Tamil families with or without the husbands in the north and east.

srilanka wastes nearly 28% growth every year (not using the full potential) and nearly looses 45% out of it's total income out of the $23bln economy on the war, security related issues and on the govt expenses.

clearly it affects every citizens of this country , the worst affected is the north and east and the end result is children begging on the streets.

the war must end not because, one is right and the other is wrong or one is Tamil Hindu and the other is sinhala Buddhist but for the sake of HUMANITY.

there is plenty of innocents through out the island. they do not deserve this kind of life!!

It is heartwrenching to see the state of villagers of 'Wellassa'.... the former grannery of Sri Lanka....

This is the result of bad governance by all parties who governed the island since independance.....

Thank you Mr. Brown for posting this clip....

It'd be great if we LNP members can build a house for them.... can anyone come up with a way to do it pls....?

Onsri,

whole system in sl must be change

Please keep your pathetic thinking only to you man. There are such people all over the country and there are also people like you who just shout saying that we should change the system.

Let's just help at least one family and think about the system later.

Lolz. Bcause this coming from muniraj16..
I didn't know that you was able to care about the victims of the Sri lankan society..

AntiKoti realize that politicians and war lords rob the dying and poor people.

Let's just help at least one family and think about the system later.

I hate such way of thinking. Help the Raja family and care about the people after..

I am sorry to hear that my statements hurt some, but you know i am telling the truth. tell me if i am wrong. i was born in sl and i love my country. my heart get broken into million pieces seeing what is happening. each year country is going down the toilet.

mother and fathers who try to be honest and put food on the table has to overcome much hardships. people have to get up 4-5-6 am to get to their work at colombo. it takes 1-1.5 hours to just travel 16-20 miles. have you seen how many people standing at bus stops. country lack good roads, schools, governments, transportations.....need i say more.

there was a period in sl that if you speak anything against the government you may not live.

you can't get anything done without paying BRIBES. rich get richer and poor get poorer.

don't tell me you have not seen poor needy people in sl. this clip should not shock anyone, if you are true sri lankan. why do you want to help just this family. why don't you help to change the whole system, so that every man, woman and child in sl can be happy, prosper and have a better future. my friends, this will never happen in our life time.

more to come

Do not make foolish statements like this...

You do not know who these Eelam people are and you do not seem to think they are human... the video looks like a human tragedy, regardless of they are Sinhalayas or Tamils, just by looking at the 'house' they live and seeing little girl.

I am sure that a legitimate Fund would see donations from Tamils, who have hearts and who understand human suffering!

Eelamaya...well said mate.
this is an human issue... great to see at least some people from both 'sides' agreeing on things :)

Hope all of us can do something to make a change in their lives for the better. can't imagine the situ is conflict areas :(
all those who rip off money from the people and those who add to this bad situation in the country should fry in hell

I completely agree with most of what you have said.

But with the above statement if you mean we should NOT help this family just because there are thousands more, then I would have to disagree.
