These reports are full off wrong assumptions. A few points I want to make.

A properly maintained weapons platform can soldier on for almost ever.
There is no such thing as 'technically dead' for an aircraft in the
absence of a threat.

example 1

The mighty B-52.

All of the airframes still flying and delivering payloads in Iraq and
Afghanistan are 1950s and 60s vintage. Some of the pilots and crew
have had their FATHERS fly the very same machine. In some cases even
their grandfathers when in the service.

KC-135.

Last aircraft delivered in 1957. The projections are that in in 2017,
they will be still flying. That will make it almost 60 years old!
The KC-135 tanker is expected to fly well into this century and the
assumption is some may be 100 years old at retirement if the KC-767
project is not properly funded.

These were all able because of the appropriate maintenance and
upgrades being carried out and the absence of a threat to neutralize
them.

So a 25 year old fighter/bomber in SLAF inventory purchased for
fraction of cost of a new aircraft is no 'fraud'.

4 Mig 27s - 1 new MiG 29 or 1 new J-7

The sad irony is while people are complaining about the MiG 29 as
being expensive, the MiG 27s cost UNDER the price of a similar NEW
aircraft.

I see also some politicians call them 'Flying Coffins'.

Weird. The SLAF lost one aircraft with an expat pilot when he
misjudged his height during aerobatics. ...so why the 'flying coffin'?
Must be directed to their pedestrian followers who don't know the
front from the back of a jet engine.

The SLAF should publish the sortie rate and the tonnage of bombs
dropped by the MiG 27s between 2000 and now.

The SL press and the politicians are giving more flak than the enemy to the SLAF

can you please explain to this forum in your own words, what is *DEMOCRACY* means in SRILANKA??

It is unbelievable that you did not get the meaning of this before you come to this forum for your terrorist leaders.

Could be,

1. You do not know and they do not know
2. Since you have not been to school no way to learn from them.
3. Or, you have been brainwashed in such a way that you forget everything.

It is up to you to find the correct option from above.
