But lack of action from LTTE points to a 'hit and run' strategy. They have also not used SAM's and SLAF is flying around as they wish

My guess is that they do not have a great many SAMs .. or, if they have, then they are of 'doubt-ful' quality. (LTTE may have got some from ammo dumps in Cambodia, Vietnam etc. .. may have fired some, and found the propellant or the guidance mechanism is defective. They may not 'go' the 'full' distance, or they simply cannot 'lock-on' and 'home-on' to target. Unless kept in proper (humidity controlled) storage conditions, SAM reliability will be 'poor').

What remaining, effective SAMs as they have must now be in the Vanni area. So, SLAF should be careful as they operate in this area (especially with Mi-24s). They will know, when they are 'fired' at .. If the LTTE has no success with SAMs in this theatre, they are un-likely to do any better, else-where.

Oh... come-on Jacob... We... Sri Lankans should render our fullest cooperation and support to demolish the terrorist activities which is taking place and try our level best to dawn peace and harmony to each one of us, so that we Sri Lankans...Sinhalese,Tamils,Muslims, Burghers could live together as we did in the past! :)

It does not matter here whether you support the Govt. or the Tamils... BUT for sure NOT LTTE Terrorists!

You are in the wrong 'time-frame'. (Really, I was prepared to give you more credit .. for intelligence).
We have to go back to the relevant 'time-period' .. when the LTTE was 'in-charge'. They were pushed back by SLA/SLN troops, advancing into this area, soon after the 'Mavilaru' incident. (There was some fighting going-on then in the Sampur area also .. but Sampur was captured later).

Sena, you are so full of sh*t. We are talking about the period when ACF was implementing post-tsunami projects in Muttur, right? When I was in Muttur in 2005 and February, April and July 2006, it was NOT under LTTE control. It was under LTTE control for a few days in the beginning of August 2006 - if you can call that being in control. Check your facts.
