Jets pound LTTE targets

Airforce fighter jets pounded an LTTE camp, where heavy weapons were stored, South of Nedunkerni, at around sunrise yesterday. In a subsequent attack the jets targeted a Tiger training camp in the same area, the Media Centre for National Security said.

On Sunday night troops killed three LTTE cadres and injured 10 in a confrontation in Pulmoddai.

In another incident Navy Dvoras confronted 15 LTTE craft sailing in two clusters, towards Pulmoddai in the seas close of Nayaru around 10. 30 p.m. on Sunday.

According to Navy sources fighting had continued till early morning. One LTTE boat was completely destroyed.

According to `Voice of Tigers`, six LTTE cadres had been in the boat that was destroyed. But the Navy claims the number of Tiger cadres killed could be around 10 to 12. Three sailors have suffered minor injuries.
