RagivG:
These Hela people have historically inherited the island at least 30,000 years ......
Do not try to twist history... those people who were living in the island were Tamil. It makes perfect sense as the island was connected by a land mass to Tamil Nadu...

The Sinhalese have the oldest, continuously recorded history in the world - the story of our race can be traced back over 2500 years.
Again - please fact check yourselves rather than regurgitating what others have falsely claimed for political expediency.
Syria's capital Damascus has been continuously inhabited for over 4000 years, with history recorded. Patna, the capital of Bihar in India has a recorded history since 490 bc. Lebanons history under various rulers has been well documented at least from the Phoenicians startin 3000bc.
The Sinhalese are not all that special.

All right, man! Sinhalese have great history! So, what?
I think the present Sinhalayas and past Sinhalese are different. Present Sinhalays have gotten mix with Portugese and Arabs...the mixed gene somehow had produced some unexpected result... take the leaders as an example: Dudli, Bond, Sirima, JR, Ranil, MoRon?
I heard DS was really dark skinned. But, Dudly, I heard was like a Burger... how can that happen?? Perhaps a Portugese or a Dutch may have played some game!

Hi Moby, pal:
How are things with you?
Hey eelamay, what do you got for us today?
Yes, pal, we are trying to find a good name for
'Sri Lanka - Tamil Eelam'
Some name suggested had been Mahavansland. What do you think? Another name may be Buddhistan!

And Tamil Nadu was connected to Asia..SO, Asia was also Tamil too.
And Asia was connceted to Euprope and Africa by land mass too...so Europe, Asia and Africa were all Tamil once. In fact the whole world was Tamil once, but one day (about 2500 yrs back) God decided that they were all too inclined in sending their kids to the war front and women were used as suicide bombers and all the Tamil in Europe were involved in credit card scams. So He decided to restrict them in to little Tamil Nadu. |

The world's first museum was built in Sri Lanka 2200 years ago. It housed the parts of the ship that brought the Bodhi sapling to Sri Lanka from India in 3rd century BC.
facts again - the first museum in the world in generally considered to be the institute for philosophy and research at the Library established at Alexandria by Ptolemy I Soter around 280 bc. Maybe you are referring to the first museum dedicated to buddhism? |
