Kenyan govt also had no rooms for UN monitors in Darfur. Why did they want to avaoid UN? They did not want UN observers who are impartial to find out their complexity in the crimes. Their crimes against humanity forced them to make room for them.
In Sri Lanka too after Mahinda Rajapakse was elected president killings and abductions have become quite normal. The govt created DPU to set up mines against civilian targets to put the blame on LTTE to get it banned and succeeded. Their apparent success encourages them to wipe out the youths and businessmen in the army controlled areas. HRW also has highlighted the crimes. It's time for the UN to act, bring the president to the International Court as it did to Milosevic of former Yugoslavia. |

Hang on now - why would the KENYAN government have much say about whether the UN can put monitors in Darfur? That's....like...insane. Last time I checked Darfur is part of Sudan.
Oh, and
It's time for the UN to act, bring the president to the International Court as it did to Milosevic of former Yugoslavia.
Yeah...hrmmm...Milosevic was sent to the ICTY, not the ICC....and Sri Lanka hasn't signed the ICC statute so no Sri Lankan will ever go there...do't hold your breath for that or for Eelam. |

Let's talk about our country!
Wait - are you suggesting that a LNP discussion should stay on topic? Radical!
I pledge not to bring up other countries unless as a response to other people using them as examples! |
