Are Tamils discriminated against in Sri Lanka?

This is part of the cynical truth-inversion propagated by Tamils to conceal their own exploitation of the indigenous Sinhela majority. In fact, the Tamils in Sri Lanka are a highly privileged community enjoying massive privileges which are not enjoyed by any minority in any other major country in the world. For example:

1. The per capita income of the immigrant Tamils is TWICE that of the indigenous Sinhelas.

2. The rate of unemployment of the Tamils is HALF that of the Sinhelas.

3. More than 30% of professional and managerial jobs are held by this 18% minority.

4. The language of this tiny minority has been recognised as a national language.

5. Their religion is recognised by the State and their major religious days are public holidays.

6. Their culture is recognised by the State and their major cultural days are public holidays.

7. Their colour is recognised in the national flag.

8. 70% of the land, and 85% of the businesses, in the administrative and residential capital, Colombo, are owned by Tamils.

Can we get all the LTTE leadership and their immediate followers who have been brain-washed to be given asylum in the West? This would be less than hundred.

It would be a cheaper and easier option for the west than providing asylum for hundreds and thousands of bogus asylum seekers.

In the mean-time, the GOSL should create the background for LTTE leadership and its immediate followers to seek asylum in the west and elsewhere.

Hunger strike is not the best way to force the authorities.

These detainees should follow the LTTE's strategies ? recrite children as suicide bombers and blow up few detention centres.

Shoukd LTTE supporters in Britain allow these detainees to die in hunger?

I say fight like Tigers. These folks have enough reasons to start a fake struggle in UK. Go for a separate Homeland for refugees.

Cheers!!

Two decades after India's bid to bring peace to Sri Lanka ended with a bloody nose, moderate Tamils in the island want New Delhi to take decisive steps to end the raging conflict there. Political and rights activists from the Tamil community also insist that the India-Sri Lanka agreement of July 29, 1987, could have led to a lasting solution if only it had not been sabotaged by Colombo and the Tamil Tigers

Whohaaaaaaaaaat?

These SWETs have no shame... they were double-crossed not once but several times by the Injuns... who created and planted the LTTE in SL using these SWETs as the cat's 'left' paw... (The 'right' paw was LTTE itself)

Anyone can see that India's leverage in this conflict is fast diminishing, as their nakedness is being exposed by the proud Sri Lankans.

Bring 'em on SWETs... bring them on...

Until Self-determination, aspirations, Tamil nation and Elaam are very visible in TN... we would never have an issue of dealing with the a few thousands of LTTE Mafia dogs and SWET parasites... DDTing them at our whims and fancies...

Berty Anna

I Have Q for you, you say

'One side they have the LTTE asking them to join and on the other side they have the SL forces accusing them as LTTE..'

Interesting,
Then WHY NOT this Tamils in UK get together not telling this true fact or feeling to the UK government, Instead they do false LTTE Harthals/propaganda/mass rallies all the time

Dude be honest and tell the truth then...

Are you trying to get sympathy by telling this in forum..lolz
