The workers of international humanitarian de-mining organization, Halo Trust came under repeated attacks. As of 12 February 2007, 11 Halo Trust workers have been either reported ?missing? or killed during the past six months. On 9 February 2007, Nagarasa Narenthiran, an employee of Halo Trust reportedly went missing in Jaffna. Earlier, on 4 January 2007, Halo Trust employee Subramaniam Parameswaran was abducted from his home at Racca Road in Jaffna by unidentified men who came in a while van.(7) On 9 January 2007, C. Rajendran, a driver of Halo Trust went missing in Jaffna.(8)

Land mine laying is a employment scheme for Tamil home growns under LTTE areas.
These projects are overseen by Nordic NGO's and funded by overseas Tamil Diaspora.
There objective is to man a generation without limbs.

SLA itself had vast minefields in places like Kili, Mulativ, Elephant Pass, Jaffna...

Tamils like suffering. that is why they walk 100s of miles from Jaffna to Kataragama and hang on hooks.

Tamils like suffering, that is why they listen to Wanni Mudalali and die for the never acheiving cause.

Both sides must accept the fact.
Both parties used dangerous mines to hold their boundaries. Most of the Camps owned by both surrounded by mines. I am sure they still doing it as they move in or move out from their new positions to be secure from each others. I still think 2 million may be bit exaggerated. But i may be wrong. Any way, mining vs de-mining ratio still on the high and that will be the case till constructive end to the situation.
