Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE)'s sea going arm suffered a major setback on the 18th when a boat explosion critically wounded their leader, Soosei (codename Oska-Sera). The explosion occurred in Nanthikadal lagoon when a sea tiger training exercise was in progress.

Soosei received serious injuries when an explosive laden boat near his command vessel suddenly exploded. Soosei's son (Shankar) and his bodyguard are reported to have been killed in the explosion. Unconfirmed reports from the Mullaithiv LTTE controlled territory suggest that a Sri Lanka Army (SLA)'s special Deep Striking squad (not part of 3SF) was behind the incident.

Today morning he succumbed to his injuries.

I am wondering how soon they will call for peace talks so that they can rest their cadres and obtain more weapons under the false pretext of peace. If they ever do call for peace talks, we should definetly go for them, but the military campaign should not cease until the LTTE gives up it's arms. Only then will the peace talks have meaning.

Great news about the DPU at work. that dumb ass probably didn't even see it coming.

BTW does anyone know anything about an LTTE leader being given treatment in a Colombo hospital? I think it was a heart attack or something. MR gave permission for the transfer into Colombo. CAN ANYONE CONFIRM THIS?

Ajan, leaving all pathetic excuses aside. Please tell me how YOU came up with the number - 300,000 Tamil civilians killed by the Armed forces.

This is their tactic. whenever they feel that they are week in military power their next step is peace talks. I am wondering why they can not hold those in SL. No need to spend thousandsof rupees to go abroad. This is the worst thing of the GOSL.

I do not agree with the financial situation of this Govenment. they are wasting money in a bad manner.
