Come out with facts... When and where Sri Lanka acted as if it did not have that 'spine'?

well i remember during Vicky's 2 year regime, but Sri Lanka always have and had a spine only some leaders didn't have it. And Vicky is on top of that list, he still don't have a one unfortunately

Thiran,
Eric Nirmalan | July 22nd, 2007 at 6:52 am
We do not know his identity whereas we know DBS Jeyaraj is journalist who is against separation and Eelam.

'Eric Nirmalan' can be a Sareth Fonseka.

Tamils in India do not refer Tamils in Sri Lanka as part of their state. GG Ponnampalam voted in favour of diswnfranchising upcountry Tamils in the DS Senanayake govt. Up country Sinhalese wanted to separate from Low country Sinhalese. In 1946 Batticaloa had a 5.8% Sinhalese and 94.2% Tamil speking population.

What do these statistics prove?

We have to find a solution to the problem under the present ground reality that N and E have a predominantly Tamil speaking population and other 7 provinces Sinhala population. Of course aspirations of minorities in the East or Western Provines must be respected. If we consider the common factors and resolve the problem without any community control the other we can live in peace and build the country.

Singapore and Canada are good successful examples to follow.

Why take the divisional route?

Why do we have to show to THE WHOLE WORLD THAT WE ARE PROVINCIALLY DIVIDED ALONG ETHNIC LINES...

IN THE NAME WHAT OR WHOM WE SHOULD DO THAT?

Vini,

The problem with certain Tamils is they are not inclined to think out of the box. They are either brainwashed or simply ignorant to be aware for the affairs.

I don't think we can even make provincially divided because that will lead to similar divisions among ethnic lines.

We should keep the unitary state as it is. Anything other than that is not possible for a small country like ours. Those who think devolution of power must again think carefully. This is why agree on JVP.
whats your thoughts?

My sympathies are with the refugees that are not a burden or a threat to UK are simply deported. Most of these people are hard working honest and immensely contributing to the economy of the country, directly or indirectly and I wish the the British government will show some understanding and tolerance.Refugees' claim that their presence in SL is life threatening is an exaggeration and a defense for their appeal to stay.As long as they do not contribute to terrorists, minding their own business and it would be in order for them to be allowed to stay. This is the view of my numerous English friends.British government seem to ignore the fact that refugees of the third world are contributing to crime and other foul deeds much less than that from the people from Eastern Europe.I see daily, drunken E. Europeans are picked up by either Police or Ambulances, costing the country hell of a lot and the tragedy is no one has raised an alarm or made a cry about it.They too rough sleep in parks and in the street and finding their way to the free council housing.

Kotia,

Peopla have dreams to make realities. The difference is Eelamists don't have realistic dreams other than just dreams like sand castles which get washed away when the sea waves hit them :)

better find out from the hunger strikers where they need their bodies to be burried?

In Trafal gas Square or in the Wanni ??????/

Daily Mirror should mind their business close to home and leave such news to LTTE ball players Amnesty International /AFP/BBC.

Thailand & British are correct in attitude. There could be Conventions but when Tamils of Sri Lanka use LTTE-Tiger terrorism as a vehicle to get refuge in another country, they must be dealt apporpriately.......
There is no violation of Human Rights as these Tamils have abused the courtesy extended. No wonder the LTTE ball players the Amensty International and the likes are quiet..

A big international refugee JOKE.

As Samanj said, this is a BIG INATERNATIONAL REFUGEE JOKE.

Hey Brits, I am your refugee TAMIL, give me asylum, give me monthly dole, give me a place to dwell. Then you Brits better mind your own biz and stop poking your fingers in TAMMIL refugees in UK.

WE TAMILS have our SUN DOG the No 1 DEVIL of LTTE TERRORISTS - The pig the fat Velu Prabha and WE TAMILS can ask Velu to TERRORISE whole UK if you dont let WE TAMILS to carry out what we want as we wish in and around UK.

Even Iran did not dare to keep hosteeges in captivity BUT we LTTE TAMILS will not dare to THREATEN you to NOT to interfere with TAMIL affairs in UK.

The BIG 'INTERNATIONAL REFUGEE' JOKE OF THE YEAR!!

._.
