Can someone say as to why the GOSL didnt wipe out the LTTE in the North first? They could have finished the leaders and cleaned up the North like they plan to now.

The LTTE in the East would have surrendered/been ineffective with no effective leadership? Mahinda would have had won with just 1 war instead of 2.

If these guys are genuine refugees fearing the LTTE, then they have no problem in deportation because they can express the GOSL what they have been undergoing and help the GOSL to find the culprits for which the latter would acknowledge.

But its increasingly evident that these goons are nothing but economic migrants who have come to collect Sterling pounds and send to LTTE to help kill our soldiers and innocent civilians.

These goons must be deported to Sri Lanka to find the correct solution. GOSL must detain them and enquire them about the terrorists activities.

Britain must learn that milking the terrorists is not going to help their cause of fighting against the terror.

Wake up Britain !

Why didn't the superior Indian Army wipe out the Kashmiris initially? What haven't the Indian Army and government wiped out the Maoist rebels? What hasn't the Indian Army wiped out the rebellions that keep popping up everywhere in India?

Why don't you focus on your country's issues first before asking silly questions!

TNT,

1. You would create a mess if provinces are allowed to separate on it's own. We would have hundreds of minute country's popping up all over the place, and dying a natural death from the lack of resources. Not practical, my dear sir.

There are sensible limits to every process and the prospect of 'Hundreds of minute countries' popping up is nothing. Eelam is a real need for the safety and prosperity of the Tamils and especially since their own government has bombed them and starved them, the IC needs to step in one day or the other.

2. You cannot compare Quebec to Sri Lankas NE, because a. Quebec was not headed by a terrorist b. Because Quebec is not ethnically cleansed as in NE. Any referendum held in NE would now not be fair, because there the Sinhala and the Muslim populations are driven out of these provinces by VP.

I'll ignore your anti Prabhakaran rant and just address the question. The referendum should have ideally been held in the 50's or the 70's. Today it becomes complicated, but it is doable considering the current state of affairs. The UN would need to be involved and people would have to be resettled etc.

Look, pal, VP started all these after Tamils ran out of options.... at least, you see, there had been no repeat of 1983, thanks to VP...

Sorry for the belated response. Will you thank VP for establishing the baby brigade as well!!

The 'liberation' of East is to please Southern Modayas...MoRon knows that SLA cannot hold onto East, to please even more Modayas, he held a huge party to celebrate it... because MoRon knows that if he wait long, East will be back in Tiger hands....

If MoRon had gone after North, he would have never succeeded, as it is evident from what happened yesterday at Mannar!

[COLOMBO (Reuters) - Five Tamil Tiger fighters were killed in a clash with army troops in the island's restive northwest overnight, the rebels said on Monday, claiming to have inflicted heavy casualties on the military.

Well if they say its five I guess its tenfold.
