I agree, Sri lankan economy is not as stable as US s, but it depends largely on Japan and China to stabilize the dollar in the monetary market.( infact they beg Bank of Japan to do so). Why do they cry so much about Chinese currency , not fluctuating in the business. Ask Greenspan when you meet him.
I should admit i have not studied economics( I have no interest to do so either), i have only picked up few interesting topics from my family members.
To a certain extent i agree with you ,present economic crisis in Sri lanka is multi factorial , but largely attributed to the mismanagement. |

When GOSL Coolies walked into Jaffna LTTE moved out to Wanni to prevent large number of Tamils getting killed in jaffna
anurudda ratwatte (former gottapaya) said 95% LTTE over and another 5% to be cleared in Wanni....and you you know the rest was history
the same way GOSL ensured not to send Food and Medicine to areas under LTTE control in East...To avoid unwanted deaths LTTE was compelled to move out of Sampoor,Vaharai and other few areas where more tamils are living....now you can wait and see the major losses expected by GOSL Army with minimum losses to LTTE...I mean hit and run which was proven to be very costly to GOSL since 1949....So now it is LTTE's turn to respond to GOSL.....may be they are waiting for the Shani maattram on 15 July 07 night......after that I understand Ranjapaksha and company are having Kandashani
Let GOSL, JVP, JHU and its coolies celebrate Jayagosha with Kiribath & Lunumiris.......and LTTE may respond in a big way before it gets digested for these modayas......and it is time for LTTE to add many more hundred of GOSL Army R.I.P (rest in peace) members to Weerawipushana list of Malasalalanka awards cerimony year 2007...awamangalamwewa

Every time I see the 'Kalak kanippu' on Pathivu, Jaffna battle looked imminent.
True. There were so many ceasefires earlier. For example, Thimpu talks time, Premadasa talks time, CBK talks times. But, now the situation is different. International community involved. In the past three occations, blame was on ltte that they broke the ceasefire. Now, after the celebration of the occupation of east, blame will be on GOSL. On July 19th, MR will invite for peace talks. But the question would be what to talk?

BTW I don't trust politicians and have never voted in SL.
Always made it a point to go overseas during elections.
Also please remember that I am against terrorism and no
matter who is in power, it should be wiped out completely.

Be Alert,
To dampen the GOSL victory LTTE might create a news worthy
incident in Colombo just to caterer to the LTTE sympathizers.
The Tamilnet Kfir downing didn't do much to dampen the
GOSL achievement.
Next few days, if you in Colombo please careful.
I usually do not like too much celebration. It is OK to recognize the GOSL Forces and their families but not to over board with unnecessary extravagant celebrations. The war is not yet over. |
