I can confirm that the Greater London Authority (GLA) has received an application from the British Tamil Councillors and Associates to hold a rally on Saturday 14 July 2007 on Trafalgar Square. The rally is to protest against alleged human rights violations on the part of the Colombo government against the Tamil minority in Sri Lanka.
You have referenced your concern that the GLA is considering granting permission to a pro-LTTE (Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam) event, which is a proscribed group under The Terrorism Act 2000 to hold a rally on the square. The police have confirmed that the British Tamil Councillors and Associates is not a proscribed group under The Terrorism Act 2000 and have no specific intelligence at this time to suggest the event would be disorderly. The police have confirmed that if the GLA grant permission that they will provide a proportionate level of policing and deal with any offences, which may come to light, as with any community event in Trafalgar Square. There is, therefore, no basis to refuse permission for such a rally.
All efforts by Sinhala GOSL Coolies in London & Tamil Traitors to Ban this meeting has failed and over 50 Thousand Lankan Tamils have already reached Central London

Is Thoppigala a strategically important location in the war against LTTE ? Why not Sri lankan forces adopt guriella tactics rather than defending a large territory ? After all they are not fighting a conventional army .

Our troops have now become 'the' world-renowned, first-class guerilla warfare experts, thanks to the LTTE.
So many 'firsts' were achieved lately, and just don't take my word for it, check out Specialforcs' pages.
I am delighted that finally leaders in our country have seen the opportunities in this conflict.
LTTE's terror has been multiplied by 10000 times by the proud SLDF... and being served back to the LTTE.
