If you think carefully about what you have read about Buddhism during the Buddha's time and thereafter, Because Buddhism was very democratic, there were many monks who tried to use it either knowingly or unknowingly. There are so many stories during the Buddha's time.
In Sri Lanka too, monks used it in various ways. You may have heard the story of 'neela pata nikaya'.
Any ways, Water cleans everything and it get's dirty, but only temporarily.
So, we have to separate buddhism from other things and understand it.
Again, we should not have any attachments to it.
Sometimes, it is a concern for me too. but, I know,there are very good monks. but the bad ones spoil it for the good ones too. It was the same during the Buddha's time excpet Buddha was there.

At present,all these problems are because of unpatriotic Journalists who ganged up with opposition politicians and LTTE is there too.
GOSL should take a calculated long term effort to hit these journalists economically in order to solve this problem.
GOSL should not backdown. |
