But at this stage we must make use Karuna fraction to destroy LTTE in North.

Never ceases to amuse me how readily GoSL bootlickers dismiss their military, 200,000 of them are no match for Karuna it seems, since apparently only Karuna can beat the LTTE, LOL how pathetic...

Once in while we get to hear a good joke from an American (I like British comedy better). We would be even more entertained if he suggested, who should be and how Karuna group should be disbanded.

VISHNU,

Exactly, this is the point they dare not to speak about. What if Karuna faction decides to defend themselves in any attempt of SL Forces to dissolve them upon the advise of good Asst. Secretary. Another war will be ravaged, more civilians will die, more human rights will be violated, more blood will be shed, more mothers will cry, no pigeons will fly and what not. What guarantee these peace lovers have that the above would not happen and that Karuna will gradually disappear into thin air without causing a havoc.

'In order to get the Tigers to abandon the use of child soldiers there must be pressure from the international community,' Boucher emphasized.

'When it comes to the Karuna group it has to be dissolved,' he emphasized.

This should be an eye opener for any of those nationalists who still think that US will eventually come to our help.

What this good Asst. Secretary has demanded us is to *DISSOLVE* Karuna Faction, not to force them to stop recruiting children.

In return they have promised is to put pressure on LTTE to stop recruiting Child Soldiers, not to dissolve them altogether.

What is the big deal of dissolving Karuna group?

If GOSL just stops financial resources to Karuna group it will die a natural death. Don?t have to do anything else. So easy.

But people who want to keep Karuna group active and kicking will bringing all the reasons under the sun to prove that it cannot be dissolved.

Nokerena vedakamata konduru thel hath pattayak onelu.

Karuna has already accepted democratic path to come to power. If he recruits child soldiers we can take that seperately. But at this stage we must make use Karuna fraction to destroy LTTE in North.

saliya
you completely misunderstood the term *dissolve* used by Boucher. the govt can absorb karuna group into their army ranks and give them uniform! thats also dissolving or liquidating!!

the results will be the same when it comes to the common enemy! NO?

Tigeress/Alwaysalion

The matter of resolvement boils down to a loss of face..... Thereby, either party want to hold the upper hand. But there could be a way.....

Now is an opportune time to side track the LTTE show them they are not representatives of Sri Lanka tamils. They have made a point and the gosl & her people have got this message loud and clear. The southern polity have behaved better than expected since 1983 despite very many provocations over 24 years. that is a clear indication to go by. Absorb all LTTE/Karuna cardres into the GOSL armed forces and post them in combine teams on UN assignments and provide them an exposure & an enviorment to be united and work together.
It is time for M/S. Dr. Nicholas Pillai, R.Jayadevan, A.K.Vivekanandan and five others who met Keith Vas to come forward with the likes of Mr. Ananda Sangaree / Douglas Devananda to talk to the GOSL in a common front to formulate a plan for peaceful development & co-existence.
Its time for the UK Govt together with the Norwegian Govt to tell the tigers its time to call it quits.

If not, this war will continue drag, as I see certain overseas tamil diaspora profiting from the LTTE, the likes of Edmond Seevaratnam ( for him war is a family business) and tell Erik Solheim get off the ltte wagon stop entertaining personal ambition in using ltte to enable him reach the pinnacle in politics in the Norway.

This way, the peace could be achieved faster than we could imagine. Lets be honest about it.

I asked this question before not sure if anyone answered.

So if not the LTTE who are the true representatives of Tamils? Any ideas?

Oh BTW you better state reasons why whoever you suggest are representatives of the tamils. Good Luck, LOL
