If you look in the history there have always been Same sex love and other forms of sexuality like bisexuality, ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sexuality ) etc.Then there are She-male, Transsexuals etc. Main human energy is sexual energy. This is very evident from our own instincts and everyone else's behavior. Every boy wants the best Girl and vise versa. The first thing comes to mind is sex, it is our natural instinct. it is Hard to supersede. It is all well programed by the nature. We are very successful of making babies.
it is only a small percentage of the population that are homosexuals and other kinds and no statistics show that is not increasing. So there is no worry about reproduction loss. first of all there are already many people which the world can handle. Every individual has the freedom of choice and they should be able to decide what is natural for them.
As long as they follow the same rules for other people , who are we to decide what is good for them???

Exactly bro. I am in full agreement, no disputes whatsoever for any reason.
In fact I think its important that we should realise and disseminate the view that they too possess the same feelings and energy as the hetero- species. The moment when folks are phobic on this phenomenon it generates the phobia among the homos than others thus suppress their needs.
Like I said MLs page I have very very pleasant experience with these type of folks and therefore I am in full agreement for their rights/obligations etc. I think the myth of reproduction haulting should be banished because like you said we are talking about perhaps 1% or less than of the world population, so how that is going to affect. Not a chance. Even heteros don't want to reproduce for some obvious reasons hence use contraceptive pills so what is this fuss about gays/lesbos.
I am off bro, time to get some sleep now. Its always good to talk with someone who understands the issue. We'll fight for the minority rights :)

Whether the local Talibans ready to admit or not, lesbianism is common in Sri Lanka. It is there everywhere not just among the Colombo 7 crowd but in the rural areas well. Only the upper middle class Talibans (who may vote for JHU) do not want to accept the fact.
Fortunately our rural society is still not that conservative to take these matters seriously. I have seen a video clip shot inside the locker room of possibly a garment factory and the semi nude girls behave very openly. (I can provide the link if Mr Brown gives me permission)
So it is nothing to worry. Just because Mahavamsa did not record, it does not mean lesbianism is something new or came from west. It has been there in every society and it will continue to be there whether anyone likes it or not.
As for the Talibans, I always have my ready made mesage, go f^^^ yourselves!

Before going any further, let me categorically admit that these people with different sexualities have a *right* to behave in whatever they wish as long as their actions do not cause any harm to any other *individual*. The issue I have here is not that, but the suitability of *Human Rights* as a criterion to decide upon these things. In fact, this is the main flaw I found in the arguments of most of those who favoured this development, they all treat *Human Rights* as a secular and palpable entity which is independent of society, culture, time etc (well that is the way the creators of these Human Rights want us to believe).
Human Rights is a concept gathered its momentum mainly after the renaissance in Europe which brought the *individual* into the centre stage (a concept that has it?s roots in the Old Testament). The system the eastern societies as well as the medieval Europe had was a one based on the Society. In those societies, actions of an individual (or group of individuals) were judged according to their implications on the society. Both systems have goods and bads. There is no point diving to those depths as my intention here is to highlight that *Human Rights* is not criterion that can be used to judge anything and everything.
It is good if those who commended this on the basis of *human rights*, can clarify their opinion about allowing naturists (or nudists) to freely wander in the society.

WHAT A JOKE!!
Every living being has its unique and extraordinary connection to the NATURE.
Members who had done bio science will know better how the Male body & Female body are universally , systamatically & scientifically well referred & interconnected with each part in terms of opposit sex. (I am not talking ONLY abt the penis & viginal, there is a lot more in male & female body that nature created in two different habitats to be united and to execute the Nature assigned tasks.
In the face of the world nature, these Gays & Lesbians are just a BIG JOKE nothing else.
Gay/Lesbian Rights??
Some says, thats their individual right to choose what they desire.
A drug addicted will desire to choose drugs. A prostiture addicted will desire to choose prostitutes, A seriel killer will desire to choose killing, A thief will desire to choose theft, A rapist will desire to continue rapes.
Thats why we in humna society have rules/orders/law enforced by the society itslef or by the governing body.
We have law suite centres to address criminal cases, we have rehabilition centres.
Can we also have special rehabilitation centres for Gay & Lesbians too???
A Male & Female have got tasks. They posses individual required tools for the tasks. They get to gether and use their tools and finish the tasks successfully. (Just dont think ONLY abt having SEX is the task)
How can gays or lesbians possesing SAME TOOLS complete tasks that require different tools??
Thats why its a JOKE!!
