When Iran Iraq war was on USA was the main supplier of wepons to Iraq and technological and advanced imaging supplier to iran.
Training LTTE with advanced wepons and providing them with large wepons help the Isreal and pakistans wepons industry grow at rapidly higer rates.
also it is a way to get rid of sell by date wepons to rough states.
as one tamil analyst said 20 years ago the countries supply wepons to srilanka supply sophisticated wepons to LTTE first and sell by date wepons to srilanka. that is why even though LTTE are outnumbered compared to srilankan army but still manage to dominate the scenes.

I hasten to emphasise the premise ? provided the donors and the IC do not have an agenda of their own e.g. to financially prop up a ?Failed State? for their own geopolitical or economic gains, to get Sri Lanka deeper and deeper into debt, to sell their military weapons which have passed their ?use-by-date?, to access/use the second largest natural harbour in the world, Trincomalee, which can deliver a service which Diego Garcia cannot do, etc.

The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) chief Veluppillai Prabhakaran's son Charles Anthony is now on the watch list of the Indian agencies after reports that he heads the air wing of the banned militant outfit.
A central intelligence officer in Mumbai said Prabhakaran junior may have been trained by Israel's Mossad, an intelligence agency.
Reports indicate that the LTTE air wing is a complement of nine pilots and seven light single-engine aircrafts. They also have a strength of about 60 airmen to maintain and service the planes mostly operating from secret airfields around Jaffna in northern Sri Lanka.
The air wing is useful for carrying out suicide strikes on Sri Lanka security forces and also carry out reconnaissance missions before an attack.
Investigations by agencies indicate that apart from Mossad, senior LTTE cadre is also trained by Pakistan's Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) operatives.
The LTTE owns a fleet of sea-going ships to transport their supplies and arms since 1986.

I dont know whether to believe this news or not. Its highly unlikely that Mossad would want to train the Tigers. A more pluasible explanation may be that the Indians are looking for a pretext to invade Sri Lanka and Thamil Eelam once again. Under the the highly unlikely chance that Mossad is involved, I saw we should make a pact with the Israelis or anyone willing to help us liberate Thamil Eelam. |
