You are quite correct. It is really disgusting to bring the Late Mrs. D. A. Rajapaksa in to these debates.
Mahinda's family home is Medamulana in Weeraketiya. The house Mahinda lives in Tangalla (Carlton) has virtually been given to Mahinda to live in by some close friends of the Rajapaksa Family.. I hear they want Mahinda to stay their as long as he wants... Mahinda started living in Carlton in the late seventies or early eighties...
These same people together with Anura and CBK accused Mahinda of stealing Tsunomi Funds. People rejected these allegations and Elected Mahinda as President... Later the same supreme court that agreed with the JANA BAKA MEHEYUMA of TRAITOR RANIL aquitted Mahinda of all charges...

Can you please show us where the Suprime court Acquitted MR os these charges??? MR Stopped this investigation using (ABSUING) him powers as PM and then President. THe Case is NOT closed. Its still OPEN and the charges still stand. MR is STILL SOOOO GUILTY that he cant even face a proper investigation. EVEN the Biggest Crooks like SB faced a full investigation by the bribary commission and cleared his name (hook or by crook). However, MR was caught SOO RED handed, that he cant even face the investigation. :):)
I too can post election post past election results but it will be of no use.
Your comment is typical of a brain dead PUNNAKKU eater. Past results are not the Gospel. However, it is a good/decent pointer to the future. Thats why people who dont learn from the past tend to repeat the same mistakes and end up in disaster. Past results are a good prediction of the future. MR cant win with out the help of the JVP. EVEN with the HELP of the JVP he technically lost the Presidential election. The JVP has about an 800,000 voter base (which is NOT much but it is enough to make difference in an election).
It is us who gave a preference vote to the JVP. We no longer have to do that with MAHINDA leading the SLFP....

I agree with you 109%. RW should go and go IMMIDIATELY.
I also agree with you that ALL POLITICIANS are curroupt in one way or the other.
However, why are you leaving out the MOST CORRUPT Political family in recent history - the RajaPASSAS??? No other leader ever appointed So many of his family memebers to high posts and Plundered the country the way this guy is doing. Not only that - he tried to Plunder Tsunami aid worth 83 million that was meant for poor victims and GOT CUAGHT RED handed. Then he used his powers to stop the investigation abusing his powers as the president/PM.
Today 70 or 75% of the govt budget is conrolled by ONE FAMILY. I cant think of another country where ONE family plunders the way MR has done. Not even in countires like North Korea, Cuba, Afganistan, has things like this happened.
If your doing something with that power then at least you can show something for the PLUNDER.

1. The economy has been RUINED.
2. HIGHEST RATE of Inflation and Interest rates anywhere in the ASIA.
3. Our International IMAGE has been RUINED. GL Peiris is going around the world BEGGING because many countries have stopped AID.

| Anizam, the main thing is corruption charges must be proved against MR , it is useless accusing him. For that matter even in the past corruption charges against other politicians surfaced during election times as mere route of capturing power. After the elections nothing happens. So why should we bother about MR. I will just give you an example involving late Mr. R Premadasa. His son inlaw was occupying and planting flowers in govermentland around Nuwara Eliya racecourse and gregory lake.This was a huge area. Flowers were exported to Japan and special airlanka flights were arranged for this purpose.Do you think he paid for all this? No. Only it was a talk on political stages.Change of Govt. in 1994 brought an end to this. But, no charges were pressed and everybody is free. As long as MR brothers are concerned as long as they deliver, why worry? |
