95 percent of Thoppigala in government hands

The government said yesterday that 95 percent of Thoppigala area was under the control of the military and that the entire Tiger base would be overrun by troops `in the next few days`. So far at least 188 LTTE cadres and nine government soldiers have been killed in the latest operation to capture the last Tiger stronghold in the east, said military spokesman, Brigadier Prasad Samarasinghe.
He said that advancing troops had captured three more Tiger camps on Tuesday evening, killed more than 30 Tigers and inflicted heavy casualties on them.
He said that after this series of setbacks in the Thoppigala area, 42 LTTE cadres had surrendered to the military last week bringing to 659 the number of LTTErs who had surrendered since the signing of the CFA.
`We are again calling on the remaining LTTE cadres to surrender to the military as soon as possible,` the spokesman said. He said that a man who had escaped from the LTTE had said that there were at least 73 prisoners in LTTE custody, including, Muslims, Tamils and two soldiers.

As Thoppigala falls LTTE carder flee the area and also some Tamil members flee the forum too.
By the way Mr. Army LTTE surrendering is to avoid getting killed. They are brainwashed idiots that do not deserve living. So do not send them back or do not feed them on our expense. Then what to do? You know what to do with them. Aren't you?

Thoppigala is a forfeited natural rocky caves, which is difficult to reach from distance.
GOSL should built a STF camp here to monitor activity's from north to east and also to west. |

Ajan, once the area is occupied and prospers under govt. control the tamils in the east will take care of the ltte.

How can you say that not to feed them. If they are brain washed as say, we can show the dood gesture feeding them. buy the way how can it be only your money. all the communities paying the taxes to government. Infact other pepole pay tax than the community whom you belongs to. |
