Why are these Chinese so rude. Is it because of the regimental type of life they are living or is it in their blood. I 'm asking you this because I too had this nasty experince in Singapore. In my experience, Japnese are totally different. How are the Chinese in mainland China?
The Hong Kong Chinese are really rude!! There are two types of rudeness
1) They will Yawn with their open mouth in a crowded train or Burp as loud as could without saying Excuse me!! Push when they get or get off buses and trains etc etc
2)If you are about to get to the lift and they are in the lift already they will close it on your face, If you ask for direction they will simply turn their face and walk away without helping
They also discriminate when they see a brown guy..eg:- in a Bus if there is an Asian seated and there is no one next to him, they will prefer to stand than to sit. (Who cares it is good for the Asian guy so that he can occupy the whole seat)
The times are better these days but it was terrible when i first came to HK. The reason was most of these HK Chinese were filthy rich and when you go shopping, you can't even touch or try out clothes (now they are so much better) you either buy or get out..they don't eve serve u
again times have changed cos HK went down badly economically few years back ..people lost their monies and shops wanted customers to buy their products..at present they are better..They will serve you with a smile in a shop..u can even fit it on..
I am shocked that you had a bad experience in Singapore..U get a load of Asians in SG and it is a better place than HK.
Now let us talk about Mainland Chinese..They are so different..they treat you very well..they try to talk to u..they even wave at you and take pictures with u..cos they are poor (Majority are poor) The main Cities i visit in Mainland China (Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou) all treat Asians quite well..they are so much different to HK Chinese.
