The document signed by the religious leaders becomes another Piece of Paper like CFA of 2002 if not implemented.

Buddhist monks are urging President Mahinda Rajapaksa to keep the promise on which he came to power in late 2005: to crush the Tigers with military force.

Looks like these so-called religious leaders have no policy on their own... they had urged MoRon to do violence (i.e. waging war), now they condemn violence.

Tigress,

My personal idea is MR should INSIST that we get UN monitors and UN peace keeping force.

We could keep SLA in camps and let UN peace keepers be on the streets.

You and I both know how Mudalali hate 'otsiders' (yes even Tamil outsiders) in his backyard. Then there will ne fire works all over again.

(I think Mudalali had made a vow to not to let any foreigners in 'His' land)

Why not give adminstration of all of Jaffna to UN then SLA can come back to South and GOSL do not need to worry about Jaffna.... LTTE had welcome UN peacekeepers... only GOSL, is opposed!

i too think along the line of yours in this case , for the sake of bla bla, MR should allow the UN to run riot where ever they want in lanka.

then it will be upto the ltte to find a new strategy with the given ground situation.

what my biggest worry is the southern political parties strategies.
, allowing the UN monitors/force is not in any southern political parties book. all the southern parties want is to eliminate the Tamils from lanka slowly. they want to have a mini war to terrorize the innocents in the name of fighting terrorism time to time and make peace when suitable. by doing so, they archive what they want.

if the southern political parties allow the UN to enter lanka, the southern political parties strategy will not work, actually , it will backfire!!'!

if you think that LTTE will fight the UN forces and if you are reflecting the thinking of the southern common man , then the job becomes easy for the south isn't it ? eradicating ltte? NO?

in my opinion, the gosl will not allow THE UN forces at all to come to lanka, if not, definitely not in MR's TERM!!

then , there will be Q, how long the pakshas want to rule over lanka!!

Franklin, buddy

Indians will be fine if they are offered a commanding position... of course that would make sense. Like in E-Timur, Aussiee command the UN force...
