Hi Meyala
The purpose is to show that the security forces care about the people.
Exactly...u said it..the picture's objective is to show that the security care about Tamil people..(Basically a propaganda picture)
so you agree differently the other forum members talking about delivering the baby or checking on the mother!!
Thank you! |

Our security forces are the Best of the Best...not like WalDemala Army - just look at how we treat Female Tamils..
I agree with you totally..another member who accept the real purpose of the picture...Sinhala Army treating Tamil Civilians well..Thank you |

this kinda pics with docs getting published very often. For example, now triplets are born in everywhere in the world. But when it happens in some small countries (even developed ones), all mum, babies and doctor appear in the next day's newspaper. I would say, we are not interested in seeing the doc even in those
yes i am 100% with you on that.. They do take a picture to show How the Mother and the babies are keeping..the focus was never to show the world How passionate the doctor was..the objective is different to what we are seeing in this picture
Tell me something..what is the difference it would have made if the Doctor was just standing next to the patient in the same van with all others around without looking at her private part or showing as if he is checking. It would have made no difference if they want to pass on the message as to what you wrote..
but please think, this picture is not about the mother or the Child, it is all about the SL forces helping Tamil civilian..
That is my point!! |

This lady is one of the friends or relatives of the mother. She is a tamil. I say this because of the design of the necklace.
yes UR right..I had a doubt about the design of the necklace.
She may be a relative of the mother..ok i agree on that too
People in Jaffna travel freely with jewellery because it's under army control for so long and life is normal there.
I agree again..life was very normal during the CFA time..even we went to Jaffna and a lot of Sinhalese too traveled to Jaffna not long ago..but things are different after the War started again..There are white Vans abduction and Killings..people are scared again and i am not sure a lady will openly wear the necklace now..
I know because I have personally gone to jaffna before the troubled times and have seen what the atmosphere is like.
Yes ..i agree ..note the word BEFORE..we are talking about the picture which was taken now..what you think what is going on now..do you really feel someone will wear a necklace! |

Berty Aiya!
You are way over the line here, you should know better, what you are trying to prove?
Fact is a fact and you still can't come to peace with it for some reason.

Saint Malli
Guys there are very *genuine reasons for this thoroughly checking, he is the one who is responsible for her life and he should make sure many things go correct until he gets to the hospital with her alive, to signs the papers, which says he handed her over to hospital with the minimum harm.
again I am with you 100%..but please take a deep breath and think again..
Ur the only one who has the focus on the mother and the baby..and Ur absolutely right..but if you read the post of other members here it is all about Sinhala Forces Helping Tamil Civilians...Is that what you see malli..No..u see the real human side..
That is the difference..
We should remove the Sinhala/Tamil Caps and think like humans..now tell me is this picture neccessary..what do you think the real objective of this picture.. |

Berty Aiya!
If you want to know my opinion about the picture, then here it is,
Picture was very appropriate, they deserved a medal or two, if this picture came from defense.lk then so be it.
The guy was checking the bleeding, since he is not prepared to handle a massive bleeding inside this vehicle. So if he sees more than 250ml (roughly) of blood coming out then he knows he is in big trouble and he is in state of very tight situation here, remember she juts gave the birth, and we don't know the status of *placenta here so he is on alert.
They are trying to underline the help they gave to this girl and that is also a fact, Tamil people should know, war is not against them but against their terrorist kind. I felt damn awkward to state about this 'helping fact thing' so this will be the last post on this thread from me.
Rest is up to you.
