If someone ignored the orders of security forces, then they have to bear the consequences, because the country is in a highly volatile security situation.

In the other-hand, if this person was hearing-impaired, it would have been a sad-story too.

These are the consequences of LTTE's pointless terrorism.

Kankun and Aligatepera is in the same price . 2 rupees.
So we are equal bro when it comes to the price.

Depends on whats one after, Guacamole or Kankun-Beef?
Either way we are not 2 rupees mate! ;)

I agree with about trespasses. People have rights to shoot.

Which country are you guys living?
it may be true in the US but most European countries even the police need to show cause b4 shooting!

Better late than never.

Human Rights awareness programs for cops?

Why only for cops?

How about our politicians, Judiciary & professional?

Cops get the bad name because they are at the bottom of the hierarchy of violators of basic human rights everywhere.

Talking of Human rights. Here is the end of a gross violator who died few minutes ago. Remember him?

Former U.N. Secretary-General Kurt Waldheim, who was elected Austrian president despite an international scandal about his secretive World War II military service, died Thursday, Austrian media reported. He was 88.

Sri Lanka's Navy said on Thursday it shot a foreign aid worker with international organisation Mercy Corps on a beach in the northeast, saying he ignored warnings to stop. The man suffered a wound to the back of the head on Wednesday night in Trincomalee and was transferred to a hospital in Colombo, but his condition did not appear to be critical, Mercy Corps programme director Iveta Ouvry said. The Filipino national was in Trincomalee on a field visit to monitor post-tsunami projects, the group said on Thursday.

Aligatepera,
I live in US. About Kankun and pera price I am not kidding. In Haputale you can buy a aligatepera for 2 rupees and a Kankun mitiya is 2 rupees in Moratuwa area. It is all relative to your location.

Human Rights awareness programmes for cops

What ever awareness programme comes you cant stop human right violations because the emergency law it self a violation of human rights. This Island is under the emergency many many years and cops doesn't know what the normal law is therefor the human right violation is the part and parcel of Sri Lankan's life so the human right violation in SL has become natural so much so that PPL of SL doesn't even know their rights. They know only to cling like monkeys in heavily packed buses
