COLOMBO (Reuters) - An expatriate aid worker with the international organization Mercy Corps was shot in the head on a beach in Sri Lanka's restive northeast during a visit to monitor post-tsunami projects, the group said on Thursday.
Villeomour was shot as he strolled along the beach in front of his hotel at Trincomalee, 260 kilometres (160 miles) northeast of the capital, on Wednesday night. The area is usually heavily guarded by the Sri Lankan navy. Edited By - chinthanaya - 14 Jun 2007 06:47:47 GM |
