if you or your friends can get together you can do a lot to help the some of poorest communities in Sri Lanka, especially in the North & East.
That is why TRO was formed. See what GOSL did. It turned it into a personal lottery with corrupted kangaroo legal system. |

It is very clear, our successive so called leaders of the country is to blame because of their policies what made SL go to this destructive path.
Look Why Many Singala youth joined in JVP?
Same goes to Tamil Youth.
The problem i see is there is no alternative in SL other than these 2 main Parties from Hell. i have no clue how you can change them politically. They already poisoned the South regarding the Tamil issue. All the move they make is not intent to help the people, rather to hold on to power in a traitorous way.

DVLAD, TRO was formed alright but it's real motives are unclear, for the very fact that it is closely affiliated with LTTE. Given LTTE's reputation you can't blame anyone for questioning the real motives of the organization. Remember even British Charity Commission removed the TRO?s UK charitable status on the ground that it had not been able to account satisfactorily for the application of funds?. 'In 2006 activities of the TRO had begun to worry the French Anti-terrorism Directorate investigating the LTTE. On October 1 of 2006, the Swiss police arrested the TRO secretary Vinaygamoorthy on the France-Switzerland border. Mr. Vinaygamoorthy was transporting 18 million euros in cash. Though he claimed that it was TRO funds raised for Tamil refugees, it was established by the French Anti-terrorism Directorate that the money was designated for the LTTE. Mr. Vinayagamoorthy was released and later arrested in a raid in France on April 1 2007 for violating French and EU law by providing material support to a designated terrorist organization.'

I see your point and I agree there. Both JVP and LTTE have similar ambitions when they launched their fight aganist the rule and difference is JVP didn't have an international backing while Indians helped the LTTE militarily to destablise the then government, then on everything is history.
However, as you said the ruling 2 big parties have not clearly addressed the underpinned issues of the poor masses. The issue still remains while the politicians make their own decisions. But we also have to remember its a hard tussle to evict one of the two strong established parties by a small party.
Therefore, what I believe is embrace them into a common understanding while keeping the issues alive, in this way the small parties can be independent yet be a part of the ruling polity.
Only way to quench this political problem is via politics not by miliatry means, JVP failed on 2 occassions and the LTTE still have not matured or realised the problem too or slyly keep it as it is so to keep the corrupted imbalance ruling run continously for as long as they wish for.

US must investigate how GotAbhaya Rajapakse got the green card and the US citizenship now. A man who makes allegations of the world body, UN, and the NGOs cannot be a human of good character.
If any impropriety is found, an extradition to US may pave way for a negotiated settlement of the 5-decade old problem.
