Tigeress19:
If we had a country called Ealam defenately US would have placed it in the 122nd place. LTTE is strong for human trafficking.

Eskimo 06 :

Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country!

This is a good brain wash talk by politicians who wants to make you feel that
do not expect any results from them,

Maitreya,

Only thing people hate is the Racist ruling GOSL and its coolies who are the root cause of all these problems

Government is made of part of the country what we need is clear conscience when the government or terrorists or whoever tries to sabotage the country's balance and its folks who clamour for peaceful living.

This is why fighting in an acceptable manner is norm like the other countries. People like you and I can change the country and this is why we must get together and beat the forces who appear to decimate our country both politically and militarily. If we show the dissent and work for the solidarity we can always get the best for the country.

DVLADV,

Eththo kathi bothi: Natho horowathi'

There is no word called 'Horowathi', it may be that you are referring to 'Hullathi' which means 'sigh of relief'.

Eskimo,

Nice one JRJ, we can't change some people here, like wise we can't change the fact that we are born in Sri Lanka.

Majority people of SL are exceptionally good and a fitting tribute to the country, its only a handful opportunists castrate the island & sell it for personal gains.

Politicians have created mess for their survival and this is part and parcel for the current debacle, then again that doesn't mean we can assist a brutal terrorist organisation to appease or compensate that.

As I have time and time again said on this forum, people need democracy, not totalitarianism to evict an elected government (no matter how corrupted that is), after all people have the power to clamour for a change, since 1948 we have seen both UNP and SLFP had to depend on minority parties for their survival. This is why its called democracy, whereas people like Pirapa has decimated the non-LTTE tamil voices(Dr Thiru, Dr Thiranagama et al) thus pretends a tamil voice solely by the LTTE- which is a myth!

Maitreya, the point is you can't expect politicians to do everything, least not in Sri lanka, but if you seriously think about it, if you or your friends can get together you can do a lot to help the some of poorest communities in Sri Lanka, especially in the North & East. For example look at what Horizon Lanka Foundation is doing (http://www.horizonlanka.org/) to help some of the poorest communities in SL. Sri lanka will not develop if you leave everything to the politicians, but if our Tamil & Sinhalese communities can get together we can not only bring peace and but also develop the most needed communities in SL.

No argument as you know more Sinhalese than I do. That is a given: for personal knowledge how do you say 'starring'.

Politicians have created mess for their survival and this is part and parcel for the current debacle, then again that doesn't mean we can assist a brutal terrorist organisation to appease or compensate that.

But by only looking at one side of the equation and supporting what you presume is a democracy, your knowingly or unknowingly supporting terrorism. The only difference is that terrorism is not directed at you or the ones you love. So its another example of NIMBY.
