Guys,
To come back to the topic on this transport problem, did you know that Sydney's rail system was recently declared the worst in the world!? I'm pretty sure whoever carried out the survey didn't even bother looking at poor little Lanka's bara karaththa.
A few months ago the Queen Mary 2 & Queen Elizabeth 2 docked in Sydney Harbour & just about half the town went down to see the two stately ships. But confusion reigned supreme when all of them tried to get back home. The roads were clogged & the railway system was simply overwhelmed! It was very embarrassing to the city council & state govt as well.
Add to that, the APEC summit will be held here in a few months. Bush, Putin & co wil descend here & for security reasons the public transport schedule will be scaled down. Some highways & roads will also be closed. It's going to be CHAOS! People will have to fly to get to work on time.
You see, even so-called developed countries have their problems. It's not only us. Edited By - Imperator - 13 Jun 2007 05:31:41 GMT |

Since China is a friendly country of SL, GoSL is planning to bring down the order of 82mm and 52mm heavy mortars by 1000 each!
if these arms / ammunition / explosive recoveries continue at this rate, GoSL might as well have to CANCEL the whole order! LOLZ. |

Maybe it was not the LTTE.
LTTE never makes such blunders.
This is more like GoSL's attempt to make LTTE look bad.

Getting back to the transport problem from war, it is good that somebody again is voicing up the idea that SL roads should be done with concrete. This was first brought to notice by the engineer Kulasinghe and since the initial costs are quite high, it was not used for the big roads but for small ones here and there which have proved that it is a saving in the long-run.
GOSL is paying through nose just to repair the roads that have been made with material (tar) that is not at all suitable for a country with a hot climate. Still no one has been bold enough to take the decision to go for concrete roads and the country looses so much annually, just like our coastal protection measures!. |

Looks like I struck a nerve. All this belly acheing is just to white wash the truth.
Blowing up a pylon is a small matter for the LTTE. I think everyone knows that.
Bombs found near Wellawatta Station. Dose anyone think LTTE would waste precious amo on such foolish actions?
You may pretend to laugh but I know it hurts you inside to know your real enemies are closer to you than you think. |

Just tell me one thing. Who is gonna pay for it?
Definately not with SLRs.
So quit dreaming.
This will never happen. It is all a show to fool the southern Morons. |
