US condemns `forced removal of Tamils`

The United States yesterday condemned the evacuation of Tamils from Colombo. A statement issued by the United States Embassy in Colombo said:
`The United States condemns the forced removal of Tamils from Colombo. Such measures violate the Sri Lankan Constitution`s guarantee that every citizen has the right to freedom of movement and choice of residence within Sri Lanka.
The United States Understands and supports Sri Lanka`s obligation to defend itself against terrorism. But this action can only widen the ethnic divide at a time when important efforts are underway to reach a national consensus to end Sri Lanka`s nearly quarter-century old conflict.
We call upon the Government of Sri Lanka to stop the forcible removal its citizens from Colombo, to make public the destinations of those already removed, and to ensure their safety and well-being.`

You might actually have a valid point for a change. America has lost whatever moral upperhand it had before with its insane war in Iraq and extrajudicial practicies like hording people in Guantanmo. Its so bloody sad that a great nation like the USA has sunk to the levels of depravity that one would typically associate with Sinhala Buddhist savages in Sri Lanka.
America is the nation that oversaw the rise of Europe from the ravages of WW2. Likewise it was America that showered benovlence on the Japanese to ensure that they are what they are today. Sadly, the folly of the American people in electing a retard for a president, has seen this once great nation has sink to unforseable lows. Demorcacry can be a curse sometimes.

Let also not forget Tamil tourists to Sri Lanka who indirectly contribute to the genocide of their own kind. Everytime we take tourist dollars into that god forsaken country we help in the slaughter of our own people. |

All were are sleeping last 5 days when this was announced, what did the tamil politicians do. NOT ENOUGH.
tamils Dont worry too much, its opening the way to see tamils as seaprate by IC. |

See the difference between a civilised society and a barbaric society.....
When tamils were forced from Colombo, the govt. hears the voice of
---- other governments
----- Politiciens
----- Supreme court
---- individuals
-- Human rights organisations
and based on these some decisions are correctly reversed.
AND ALL SHOULD BE PLEASED ABOUT IT- THAT IS HOW CIVILISED SOCIETY WORKS.
But how does a barbaric society works
----100,000 muslims asked to go with an hour
--40,000 old , infirm, vulnerable tamils used as human shield. Tamil life is treated as sheer dirt !

Piedmon I totally agree with you on this . We Tamils should donate the money to our people instead of contributing to the Sri Lankan economy. I have already cancelled my plans of going to Sorry Lanka instead given the money to Ramakrishna Mission and thats sent to Vaharai refugees. I urge all the tamil patriots to do your best. Forcing the tamils out of colombo was the last nail in the coffin in recognising eelam. These RajapUkse brothers have proved that they have taken the sinhala people for Modayas. they have proven to the IC that they are not interested in tamils , now they are trying to make the IGP a scapegoat.

Superb! Don't come here and make dull the atmosphere. I really hope the customs get tough on eelamists and prevent entry for refugees. They go to other countries and bring such a bad name to SL. Recently, a friend of mine who works for Mobitel had gone to the British HC to get a visa to be sent for 2 weeks by Mobitel. She has seen bloody eelamists so shabily dressed that she said the only thing missing was a 'Thea Dalu Kadana Wattiya'.
