| Yes, we should not ask Tamils who came from N or E to go back. They can stay any part of the country as long as they want, provided their staying in Colombo is not a treat to national security of the country. Unfortunately a small components of these tamils are staying in colombo to plant bombs and kill opontents. So our intelligence officers must have a method to identify these culprits. |

Saliya,

Here is the agenda of Mahinda Chinthanaya, and what it has accomplished so far:
(I) Win the election at all costs, even if it means sleeping with the enemy (e.g. using Tiran Alles and Basil as a front to bribe the LTTE)
(II) Do not do make any changes to the Constitution. Especially do not alter the 'Executive Presidency Clause', since this would threaten the dictatorship. Even though, of course, getting rid of the 'Executive Presidency Clause' was a 'promise' made to voters
(III) Use the Karuna group to carry out a dirty war against any potential Tamils, especially influential ones, who may oppose the official party line of GOSL. The idea being that outside observers will be far less likely to consider Tamil on Tamil crime as racist; which will keep the foreign aid and arms coming in.
(IV) Put as many friends and family members in power as possible. So far we have Gothbaya controlling the defence ministry, another Rajapakse in charge of ports, and Basil as 'senior political advisor.' More friends in high places of power include Sarath Silva (who prevented any investigation of the 'Helping Hambantota Scandal' and Ajith Cabraal, a personal friend, whos dubious credentials Rajapakse happily overlooked.
(V) Silence the Opposition to a minimum. So far, this has been the most difficult task on the Chinthanaya's agenda. Sripathi and Mangala have been largely sidelined, but Ranil remains a thorn in the side of the flesh. Tiran Alles is being dealt with as I write.
(VI) Silence the press/media. So far we have seen one journalist killed, and several others arrested, intimidated, and let out with a warning.
(VII) Achieve some kind of temporary military gain to keep the extremist parties satisfied. The 'Karuna Group' came in handy here. After the capture of the East, many Sinhalese now believe the war is winnable - overlooking important minor details, such as the fact that the Government cannot even secure Colombo against air raids by Tiger planes, and that the Tigers continue to launch spectacular, albeit small-scale attacks, with fair amounts of success against 'well-fortified' army positions in GOSL controlled areas. And also, that the East is not in fact as 'secure' as the Government claims. |

Sri Lanka's highest court ordered police on Friday to stop expelling Tamils from the capital
But this is what the U.S. Supreme Court did after 2 years of incarceration of around 120,000 Japanese during WW2?
In 1944, the Supreme Court upheld the constitutionality of the exclusion, removal, and detention, arguing that it is permissible to curtail the civil rights of a racial group when there is a 'pressing public necessity.' |

Lion roars;
Did any NGO or Embassy worried when LTTE used to chase Sinhalese and Muslims from North while taking their lands ??
Is MR trying to get Sri Lanka shunned and banned by the international community the way LTTE is?
Dogs bite. Men do not bite back. All knows who serves whom at the end.
It should not take much to imagine how it all will end if men stooped down on all four to do 'I shall -what you will'.

Sri lanka court orders end to Tamil expulsions.
This is not the way they should have done the expulsion. What govt. would have done was discreetly hand over the job to thugs to take care of tamils, who residing in lodges without any valid reason. And Govt. to make a mock arrest of those thugs and release later to continue with the job. |
