I think we cant justify government discrimination by these arguments. GOSL must face IC and also have to obey international treaties. We are not isolated. |

Borne out of the legitimate necessity to ensure security but it seem to me to be a slightly ill conceived security measure.
Sure, it may well have gone on to prove to be a very effective counter measure indeed that should have been put in place run up to inevitable battles ahead, but as things stand, it seems as though it is detrimental to the overall national interests, including those extended battles to win hearts and minds at home and abroad under an increasingly hostile climate.
Perhaps this idea is borrowed from Israel in a hurry, ignoring the Israeli end game being a two-state solution whereas ours is definitely not!
Obviously, paramount security concerns must be the reason, which has resulted in a momentarily lost of the sight of ultimate objectives.
SLDF are fighting for just causes, even noble ones; sovereignty, territorial integrity and of course unity, peace and security to all.
This particular security measure probably has undermined reasons why our gallant forces do what they do. |

Deportation of Tamils from Colombo is reminiscent of Holocaust: ACHR New Delhi, June 8, IRNA
Sri Lanka-Tamil Deportation-AHRC
Asian Center for Human Rights (ACHR) Friday urged Indian government and Dravida Munnetra Khazagam (DMK), a regional political party of Tamil Nadu, to intervene against acts of ethnic cleansing and racism being perpetrated by government of Sri Lanka against Tamil minorities.
Nearly 500 ethnic Tamils including women and children were hounded like animals, subbed into the Ceylon Transport Board buses and then deported to war-torn North and Eastern parts on 7 June 2007 on alleged security grounds.
The victims were reportedly given just half-an-hour time to pack their luggage, said a statement issue by ACHR here today.
'Even those who escaped threats from the Sri Lankan security forces, the LTTE and the Karuna faction are not being spared. Security threat is an excuse as the ethnic Tamils coming out of Northern and Eastern parts had already taken Travel Passes from the Sri Lankan Army and provided a surety to guarantee their return to their homes.' 'The forcible deportation of the ethnic Tamils from Colombo to the Northern and Eastern parts is reminiscent of The Holocaust', stated Suhas Chakma, Director of Asian Center for Human Rights.
Urging Foreign Minister Pranab Mukherjee to intervene, ACHR stated, 'The forcible deportation of the ethnic Tamils from Colombo to their homes will not only widen the ethnic divide and intensify the conflicts but these are acts of ethnic cleansing and racism which cannot be tolerated by any civilized society'. |

1)) Security forces in & around Colombo have to keep a CLOSE eye on these NOTORIOUS TAMILS (Highly probable LTTE TERRORISTS) who are from North & East. Just keep a close eye on them, watch what they do. Scrutinise patiently. Tamils from Noth & East just cannot LOITTER in & around Colombo like STRAY DOGS. STRAY DOSG must be caught and sent to secured places in order to protect the public.
2)) Issue security Passes to Tamils of North & East to come to Colombo only after 100% checking of the *REASONS* for them to come to Colombo. Check the authenticity of those *REASONS* in a proffessional way.
3)) Strengthen the security of Check points in City Boarders adjoining High ways to North & East. Check thouroughly all TAMILS coming from North & East
We must keep all cities secured. Put all barriers to STOP LTTE penetrating in to Colombo city.

GP RANIL, the cattle, the BULL was such STUPID to open ALL THE CHECK POINTS and barriers around the country which somewhat stopped & controlled LTTE penetrating to Colombo city. After this GP RANIL, the cattle, the bull ordered all checkp[oints opened, and put no barriers during his Premiership, many LTTE TERRORISTS freely came to Colombo city and most of them are staying in LODGES in Colombo.
GP RANIL: The cattle, the Bull: Why dont you go to Killinochi to meet V Prabhakaran and do the job for him in his bed??
