Mucha,

These UNP'ers and Tigers are equating this incident to ethnic cleansing! My goodness, are they truly this desperate??

If Mahinda wants ethnic cleansing he will start in Hambantota, Matara and Moneragala. He will burn the Kataragama Devale. Why should he start in Colombo which is 60% Tamil speaking?

Tamil's are free to buy land and live anywhere in SL. However there are suspicious Tamils and Sinhalese who Aid Terror. The Security Forces must monitor these types..

The United States condemns the forced removal of Tamils

Colombo, June 8, 2007: The United States condemns the forced removal of Tamils from Colombo. Such measures violate the Sri Lankan Constitution?s guarantee that every citizen has the right to freedom of movement and choice of residence within Sri Lanka.

The United States condemns the forced removal of Tamils from Colombo. Such measures violate the Sri Lankan Constitution?s guarantee that every citizen has the right to freedom of movement and choice of residence within Sri Lanka.

The United States understands and supports Sri Lanka?s obligation to defend itself against terrorism. But this action can only widen the ethnic divide at a time when important efforts are underway to reach a national consensus to end Sri Lanka's nearly quarter-century old conflict.

We call upon the Government of Sri Lanka to stop the forcible removal of its citizens from Colombo, to make public the destinations of those already removed, and to ensure their safety and well-being.

JVP is occupying a high moral ground
JVP MP, Anura Kumara Dissanayake, speaking in Parliament on the issue, said power hungry leaders had committed such injustices against Tamils in the past, such as the ?83 riots, leading to the current crisis. ?The 83 riots made Colombo a dangerous place for Tamils to live in, and the current evictions have created a similar situation for them. What is the difference between ?83 and now? Such actions appear to be made on the premise that all Tamils are Tigers?, he noted.

Well said.

JVP also highlighted the plight of these Tamils who fled from the abductions, torture, extortion and enforced disappearances and sought refuge in Colombo and India. The paramilitaries are armed and given impunity to hunt down Tamil civilians. Now these Tamils will be at the mercy of SLAF, murderous EPDP and terrorist Karuna.

As usual, UNPers and Eelamists are blowing this completely out of proportion.

And as usual Gamiya is 'blowing' MR till his face is blue! :) :)

We all know about your love for Black African's. Infact Akila Viraj and the Rathu Thol Balakaya will be jobless if you had a few Balck African's around you... We all know you will be in senventh heaven..

Gamiya is relating his OWN experiance with MR to that of RW and Akila. Gamiya being MRs 'GAL KOLLA' - gets very upset with MR, when MR leaves him for another animal. The moment MR sees another Monkey or Donkey or a BUffalo - he leaves Gamiya and goes for that. Its only natural it hurts gamiya also. Duka Thamai!! :)

One more thing HOri Baly Gamiyooo - It is 'believed' that aids first start in Africa from Monkeys! So dont give your 'Behind' to MR so much. You will also get it from MR like RW!! :) :)

400 million ransoms paid by abducted Muslim businessmen

(LeN- 2007 June 07, 8.00 pm) Over 400 million rupees have been collected as ransom from around 6 Muslim businessmen who were abducted from Colombo during the period of a month.

Here is a breakdown of the sums each of the abducted Muslim businessman has paid.

100 million rupees from M. Rafeek, the owner of Expo Lanka

50 million from Mubarak chairman of Nolimit

100 million from Fousal Hameed the Chairman of the Hameedias

60 million from RIshak Hajjiar owner of Asian Hardware

30 million from M. Yousuf chairman of Trust Lanka

60 million from Vasu the owner of Devi Jewellers

Speaking to the media former deputy mayor of the Colombo municipal council Asath Salley said the statement made by government defense spokesperson Minister Keheliya Rambukwella that no Muslim businessman except for the owner of Trust Lanka has been abducted is baseless, as several of them were abducted and freed after paying massive sums of ransoms. He said they are not divulging any information regarding the matter as they fear for their lives.

Salley revealed the incident where ransom was collected from the Trust Lanka owner saying that he was first sent a fax asking to meet a group of foreign delegates who were in Sri Lanka to assign persons to recruit employees to be sent to the middle eat countries. He was asked to come to a hotel in Kandy saying that the situation in Colombo was not too conducive.

According to Salley several Muslim businessmen were held back at the hotel and demanded ransom from them. But the abductors could not collect ransom from most of them owing to various reasons. However the owner of Trust Lanka was held back in the Hotel and demanded 60 million rupees for his release. However after bargaining the sum was reduced to 22.5 million rupees. The abductors had asked the businessman to get his people to bring the money in a lorry and given certain numbers of high ranking police and army officials in case they are stopped at Check points.

But Nisthar was not released immediately as his abduction was published in an electronic media and the balance amount making up the 30 million was also collected from Nisthar?s family.

He was then release after 1 1/2 days and his vehicle was found by police from the Gelioya area. Salley says Nisthar has not even been questioned regarding the incident.

Pera,
ungrateful Tamils still insult JVP all the time.

Tamils call a spake a 'spade' and a hyena 'hyena'.

We are not paranoid as you yourself demonstarted at times. JVP has been wrong in many of its past actions and we must say so. JVP has recently appeard to be simpathetic to the plights of Tamils, which is welcome. But after 50 years of ill treatment and discrimination of Tamils the stance of JVP on devolution in not only unpatriotic to let the country slips into turmoil and destruction but also incompatible with the leftist ideology that it claims to be guided by.

Under leftist Marshall Tito Yogoslavia was united and prosperd but Milosovic ruined by his racist attitude towards the ethnic minorities. JVP's leftism is like that of Milosovic's.

Mucha,

You talk big as usual, since cearly you are not the one being affected. But how would your understanding of the situation change if you were that Tamil soul who came to Colombo to seeking a visa to get the hell out of this country for good?

If these Tamils are found to be involved with the terrorists then they could easily be detained, even if there is little or no convincing evidence. Was it hard for the government to detain journalists using the anti-terrorism act despite all the opposition they had to face? Then how easy would it be for the government to detain some poor Tamils that nobody would care about? What if the USA decided to ship out all the muslims due to the notion that they could be possible terrorists? Only people with low levels of thinking such as the Rajapakse government would propose such radical methods and people with even lower level of thinking would try to support such moves. As much as you would like to justify such moves by our government using examples back from the World war, in today's world such moves will only be looked down upon.

Mageychinthanaya:

Being a tamil in Sri Lanka is the qualification to get a visa leave the country ??????????????/

Anizam: Don't focus on the abducted Muslims....... but
look to those Muslims who are yet refugees
evicted from Batticaloa/Mannar & Jaffna.
They lost everything and yet languish as refugees.

What is this Ranil Bull Sh8t about forced eviction?
What happened to the Italiann desent in Australia & Japanese desent in USA during world war II ?

What about those Ranil's forced eliminations at Batalanda ?

This is all hidden politics and vested NGO interest and Norwegian plants?

This is the heat eliminated by the tigers..... hidden interest are jittery and Ranil Wickremesinghe is coughing over dead meat......
