| Buddha said that all living being will die... this candle burning and then slowly vanishing in this air reminds everyone this fact of life... That is buddhism; but, many Sinhala Modeyas may not see this... |

Yes, Tamil modayas have yet to wait till TESCOS makes a candle of God Shiva or his linga, to realize everything perishes one day! |

Have you read Mahawamsa or some other crap written by a Tamil LTTE propagandist to dishonour Buddhism? The Mahawansa that the rest of the world reads does not have a kind of story that you indicate to be so bad. By the way what is this cruel story? Not a one written by the woman terrosist Adele Balasingham, in English? |

I don't want to repeat that stories again here. I guess. you already know that. but the thing is you couldn't even realize how contradictory this stories with Lord Bhudha's preaching. but i can understand for a person like you who only know bhudism through mahavamsam and start to think about bhudism whenever there is a need to suppress other communities, have no ability to understand Lord Buddha. So instead of screaming here just relax and think the related stories about how Buddha introduce Buddhism in sl according to mahavamsam.
Mahawansa that the rest of the world reads does not have a kind of story that you indicate to be so bad .
By the way could you please elaborate me who is the rest of the world who are so passionate about the great mahavamsam. Edited By - thasheeeela - 7 Jun 2007 05:36:58 GMT |

The Body of Christ is EATEN by Christians every sunday.
This is a celebration called Eucharist. Burning a Jesus' candle is seen MILD.
Lord Buddha was a married Man who had experienced all comforts including lust. It is his wisdom that people revere than the Man who revoked wealth and comforts.
If the Buddhists say that they revere the Man and not his wisdom/teaching, there are thousands of living Buddhas on this earth in every continent.
Buddhists wanted to put a face to the wisdom that was imparted. That is Lord Buddha. Not God Buddha.

how Buddha introduce Buddhism in sl according to mahavamsam
well...
Buddha started a NGO in Colombo 7 and named it as 'national peace council'..
...appointed Jehan perera as the CEO.
..and recruited 'paid volunteers'
one paid volunteer went to Mihintale in a Deer skin...
rest is history...

Pera,
As a Doctor you know that you cannot defecate everything that you eat. Despite the fact you can defecate at a DESIGNATED SPOT. At one time Town hall had been the IDEALLY DESIGNATED SPOT for those whom you are quoting.
Next time it may be your university. I do not know.
