We never were violent before LTTE was created by Singhala racist modayas.
All politics in Sri lanka failed, because Singhalas claimed Sri lanka as own country for Buddhists !

Buddha can become popular among Western people, but your intolerance will destroy the image they already have about Buddhism's tolerance.
UK Singhalas protest more and more, you show more and more your fake tolerance, keep it up. |

You talk without addressing the issue as always. I have not talked about tolerance here.
What I said is its inappropriate to use religious symbols or related matters for the consumer products.
Its nothing to do with tolerance, its just a remark.
You would not like to see your mom's candle being made and burnt, would you? Same here mate, many people get offended for their practising religion, thats all. If you want respect then must respect the others too, its that simple my friend :)

I don't see any good tamils in the world, and specially in sri lanka....aren you forgetting something...mate....Aranthalawa, Temple of tooth in Kandy, and Anuradhapura............so were they all armed and dangerous...and were there any military camps inside...unlike your pathetic refugee thugs are having camp inside schools , hospitles...Hindu temples and jaffna churches...etc.. so you tell me who is baaaaaaaaad |

But if someone burns a candle made of wax in the form of the Budda's head we should all go and protest at the house of commons.
Afterwards we can go home, play a Pirith tape on the stereo, place a couple of roses before an in animate statue and wish these actions will help us become wealthier and more successful in our next birth.
That in a nutshell is what Buddhism has degenerated into today. Just another cult like all other delusions. |

I am a Catholic. I challange TESCO UK to sell Lord Jesus Candles in their super markets.
OR TESCO UK can sell candles of the Queen the Elizabeth or Princess the Diana.
Is TESCO UK up to the challange?????

Bottom line is you should not use religious figures for burning stuff such as candles. This goes to Buddha, Jesus Prophet Muhammad, Confucius, Jain and other known religious leaders. This is simply unacceptable
JRJ I agree with you. But western culture and it's thought of releigion is different than that of third world failed nations. One of the reason still we are calling these states failed and third world is releigious fanatism.
Do you think killing is better than making candles. No...And Srilankans don't have any rights to call it a disgrace to Buddhism cos Sri lankan sinhaleese are not true buddhist at all...Period,
We can see flags of UK, canada and America in women Bras and Underwares. do you think that is a disgrace for those countries or would you assume they are not respecting their countries. The western people take that as a patriatic act too.
When they do these things for their own flag what you expect from them towards something they don't even know nothing about it.
Still again I am not fully supportive of the action by tesco or who ever it is. But my point is Most of the sinhala buddhist don't have a damn right to brag about it. Cos
1) it is not their own releigion, but a borrowed one.
2) Most of the sinhalese are not true buddhist.

Why they have Candles of Lord Buddha only?
People attack only to threats. That is the reason behind all these. For those LTTE supporters, let me give you an example;
Ranil can go to Jaffna to address the people and the LTTE won't do any harm to him. Why? Because he is not a threat to LTTE.
At the same time, LTTE is trying very hard to eliminate Gotabaya and Mahinda. All because they are a threat to the LTTE's existence.

We did not forget but I guess you only read sinhala news papers.
Don't you know the Madhu bombing, thiruketheswaram, navali, nagarkovil, jaffna church and temple bombings. if you don't know it is all happned before the incidents you mentioned above. What LTTE did was a reaction of what GOSL did . There is no single violence that LTTE started. All what LTTE dis was repetition of what a Democratically elected GOSL did. If what GOSL did was correct then LTTE was 200% correct. |

Some use Buddha heads part of their home decor, others have Buddhas is bars and cafes. I don't blame them, simply b/c I see it as their lack of understanding about other people's faiths. I wouldn't personally use Buddhas, Jesus, Prophet Muhammad, Murugan or sivas for home decor. But I have to say I was quite angry when 6th century Buddhas of Bamyan in Afghanistan were destroyed by the loonytoons Taliban in 2001.
