Thought of adding my comment to this..
Last month 114 US soldiers died.

When it comes to gurilla warefare, any army fails..The US experience in this type of warefare is limited and they were not experiencing this since Vietnam..More troops are on the ground..

It is sad for these men to die like this...

I think within next few months the US will take control of this situation..But they might sacrifice many soldiers before that..

Since they are in IRAQ, they shouldn't abandon the whole thing right now. Ohterwise it is going to be a complete disaster.

There was a famous saying by former US president Reagan..

'We shouldn't go for war unless we are prepared to win it'..Not exact words, but something like that. For some unknown reason president Bush ignores it...

Sri Lanka former President Chandrika (living without her official husband)was looking for two Lankan men during night time after a drink when she was in power......one was Dayasandagiri Navy Commander in chief / then Defense secretary the other one was Lakshman Kathirgamar......she always looks for one of these two men to clear the rust (Karal in Tamil)formed in her front elevation passage.......due to poor day to day traffic/activity in that area.....hah hah haaaaaa

Indian PM told them to go for negotiations based on federal solution but they thought of their usual gimmicks of provincial councils.

Parasuram,

Infact Provincial councils were an indian idea...

The killing of two Tamil Sri Lanka Red Cross (SLRC) workers in Colombo, four days before a meeting of the European Parliament's Development Committee in Brussels on Tuesday, has been a major embarrassment for the Sri Lankan government, already receiving international flak for human rights violations.

The Colombo media has reported that at the Brussels meet, several international human rights groups are going to make critical remarks against the Sri Lankan government for the forcible displacement of thousands of Tamils in the war-affected North-East, and abduction of Tamils in Colombo city in the past year.

Parasuram,
Sri Lankan idea is District Councils/ Village Councils within unitary state.

Don't you remember in 1987 the then Chief Minister of merged NE PC Varatharasaperumal found that he did not have the power of funds to implement projects and asked JRJ to let him carry out his developments. JRJ said to him you Tamils asked Provinvial Councils and I gave you. Do what you can.

Vperumal declared UDI of Eelam and JRJ wanted the police to arrest him. He escaped to India and sought exile.

Another gimmick was to enact Tamil official language bill and JRJJ or any other leader who succeeded him never impleminted it. That is the sorry stories of Sorry Lankan leadrrs.

Dewey,

I did not get a chance to perform pap-smear as you have already done it to Chandrika to maintain a register the different types of tools visited her passage such as Kadirgamar, dayasandagiri etc etc.......jayawewa
