Fighting imminent along Northern FDLs


Reports from Jaffna say that fighting can breakout at any time between the Sri Lanka Forces and Liberation Tigers at the Vadamaradchchy East and Thenmaradchchy Forward Defence Lines (FDLs). Sri Lanka Army (SLA) at the northern FDLs has completed preparations for a major battle, and is awaiting for command from Colombo to begin offensives, reports said.

Sri Lankan police thwarted a suicide attack when they stopped a truck packed with powerful explosives at a checkpoint in the country's northwest and arrested two suspects Friday, an official said.
Policemen manning the checkpoint in Nikaweratiya village in Kurunegala district checked a suspicious truck and found it was loaded with more than 1,000 kilograms (2,200 pounds) of C4 high-potent explosives.

I guess tigers are going to attack Jaffna. Above article is the excuse and they will say it is pre-emptive. Tigers don't like the current low profile operations which inflict damage on LTTE using the same techniques they used against SLA. I guess they are going to testically withdraw from Thoppigala and Madhu areas and redeploy their cadres along nothern FDL's.
