Hi PERA
That article and some others clearly show that SL is far from a 'failed state'. Yes, there are some key issues but given the war-like situation things are not bad.
I have been doing consulting work for some of these companies and aware of the shift from rubber to Palm Oil. Carsons are big in Palm Oil in Indonesia.
Will be in SL mid June. Looking forward to do a quick trip to Kandy as well. |

| Oopps, somebody has got very angry, and has gone to the extent of thinking not writing to the forum. She is talking about civilized people, hence, she should first stop...... slamming and criticizing the Sinhalese, like a big well behaved girl. |

Ruchira,
READ before you WRITE!!
On 10th February, 1815 the British entered Kandy city which was deserted by then. On the 19th D'Oyly wrote to the Governor Brownrigg.
'Dear Sir,
'I have the sincerest joy of reporting to your Excellency that the object of your anxious wishes is accomplished and the king of Kandy a captive in our hands in the precincts of Meda Maha Nuwara and taken an hour before dark in the house of Udupitiye Arachi at Galleyhewatte a mile beyond Meda Maha Nuwara with 2 of his queens'.
'Ehelepola, Ekneligoda, Molligoda, Pilmatalawe Delwala Mahawelitenna joined in this expedition. Don Soloman Dias Bandaranayake Mudliyar of Siyane Korale assisted as the interpreter and Don Adrian Wijesinghe Jayawardhana Mudliyar of Chilaw accompanied as a guide. The king was taken to Colombo from where he finally sailed in a warship 'Convolis' to Madras on 24th January, 1816. Sri Wickrama a man of dark complexion with a strong build and six feet two inches in height breathed his last on 30th January, 1832 at the age of 52 years.

Stratergist,
That article and some others clearly show that SL is far from a 'failed state'. Yes, there are some key issues but given the war-like situation things are not bad.
only silly idiots who cut and paste lankaenews suggest that we are failed state.
they always point fingers at our government and politicians.
True, we have our share of mismanagement and corruption (who does not?? even Japanese ministers commit suicide when found corrupted).
However 'their' Peelam, no newspapers or journalists to write about the other side of the story. No budgets, no parliment to querry the shady deals of VP. No public expendiure..VP expends only on his family and on wepons.
Still our 'aiiya akka malli nangi' type idiots supporting them and critizising the GOSL.
Cheers

Why Sri Lanka needs to ask permission from India to buy weapons?
As soon as this guy returned from Sri Lanka has gone and met with Karunanidhi...(looks like Karunanidhi is his boss)
BTW, this Indian Defence Head also seems like the former head of defence Ferdinandez who is on LTTE payrol. |
