Tributesla,

That is what you call ' Geo Political Realities' which Sri Lanka realized in Aug 1987, at a tremendous cost.
New generation is going through the same 'Drill' until they also learn same, with out learning from history!

India will never be a good neighbhour. it will never be like US to its neighbouring countris, Malaysia to singapore, China to South Korea and Thailand. US and China are good neighbours for other small countries and never tried to sabotage their progress.

Quite a debatable statement!
US, China can be good only if you toe the line, many would argue.

China never tried to create problems for its neighbours like India doing to sri lanka. China could have creted many problems in Singapore( a prominent US alley) thro its Chinese populations. 50% of Singapore population are chinese. Malasia could have created more problems in Singapore thro Maley population in SIngapore. The main reason for singapore development is it has good neighbours who allow singapore to be ally with any country.

Then again China could have created problems in South Kores and Thailand who are very pro-US. But so far China has never created any problem for any of its neighbouring small countries whether they have friendly or hostile relationship with china or china's enemy countries.

And US is better neighbour than India, it never trys to create probles to small countris like West Indies, Mexico, or Canada. Canada did not support US 'WAR ON TERROR' in first place, but what did US do to canada???? nothing.

But India is constantly creating problems for its friendly country Sri Lanka. If it creates problems for Pakistan or Banglades we can understand that there is a reason, but creating problems in a friendly small country means what?? Only reason is its inferior attitude or minority complex of its policy makers.

I think it is better to be an enemy of India, like Pakistan and Bangladesh, than a friend. In the long run we are gaining more.

I think Indian policy towards Sri Lanka comes within what is called 'INDIAN ATTITUDE'. An avarage Indian can never see another as equal, either he is above or under. Indian worship the man above and thrash to ground the man under.

Indian politicians and policy makers are also Indians.
