Today's Daily Mirror......says Indian Tamils first came to this country as Kings. I am referring to the Kandyan Nayaka dynasty. The Indian Tamils with royal blood were asked to come and take up the throne in Kandy by the Kandyan Sinhalese leaders.
The mixed up Sinhala race had the habit of Sleeping with anything that landed on the Sri Lankan shore. Because of that, the Sinhalese lost the ritual status to sit on the lotus throne of Kandy. That's why the Sinhala Buddhist monks didn't have any choice other than inviting the ritually pure Tamil blooded Nayaka dynasty from the Tamil city of Madurai. :)

The President was critical of Europe, and the US, both of which have talked of cutting off aid. He accused European leaders in particular of callously stopping humanitarian aid for tsunami victims.
He also said there was no religious or ethnic conflict in Sri Lanka and the international community is completely wrong in accusing his army of human rights violations.
Talking about the conflict in Sri Lanka he said 'The ceasefire has failed; however, peace is not far away, Prabhakaran should be weakened militarily to go for a political solution. Until the terrorists are weakened, they will not come for talks. However, he added that tigers do not have to surrender arms but they must stop fighting first.
The President said 'I am ready if Prabhakaran is ready. We have said that very clearly. I am ready, but I am not prepared to kneel before the terrorism of the LTTE. I have said that many times. If I am attacked, I will counter attack. That is what we have done at every occasion.? |
