India knows that if paki and china are getting closer with lanka it will be a threat to their nuculer plants(they cant blame GOSL/pak&china relationship direct, so india balemd on tigers threat)
Now thats why Inida is forcing lanka not to have close relationship with paki and china in arms dealing.
Paki light planes can bomb these nuculer plants or do some other spy works and GOSL will prove by saying they warned that tigers wil;l do this and blame it on them. Paki knows When you have someone to blame its an oputunitie to grab it.Gov of india openly said they have placed more radars so no other country will take this chnace in the name of Tigers

Below is an another version of the story.

By ANI
Thursday May 31, 07:47 PM
Chennai, May 31 (ANI): Advising Sri Lanka not to procure weapons from Pakistan and China to fight Tamil rebels, India on Thursday assured the island nation that New Delhi would look after their weapon requirements.

National Security Advisor M.K. Narayanan told reporters in Chennai that New Delhi would favourably consider any request for military hardware from Colombo.

'We are the big power in this region, let us make that very clear. We strongly believe that whatever requirements the Sri Lankan government have, they should come to us and we will give them what we think is necessary. We do not favour them going to China or Pakistan or any other country,' Narayanan said after meeting Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi.

Residents flee in fear as Tamil rebels fire mortars at the village in Northeast Sri Lanka
Thursday, May 31, 2007, 14:17 GMT, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

May 31, Colombo: The residents of Athawetunawewa village in the Vauniya district, Welioya Defense Colony in Sri Lanka are reportedly fleeing the area due to mortar attacks by the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Ealam (LTTE), sources from the area said.

One Army soldier was killed in the mortar attacks and seven persons including an Army officer, a home guard and two women were hospitalized with injuries, defense sources said.

The first mortar was fired around 10 a.m. and the next fell as the officials reached the sight.

Athawetunawewa is situated in the controversial Welioya defense colony established in late 1980s in the northern most edge of the Sinhalese settlements and the area is continuously aimed for the fatal attacks by the Tamil Tigers.

..The Indian Navy has deployed two more ships, in addition to four, in Palk Bay. These two ships are missile corvettes of the Khukri class that are capable of sailing fast, intercepting and engaging small targets from a distance.

..The navy and the air force are coordinating the setting up of mobile radar units near Rameswaram. The naval air station at Ramnad (Ramanathapuram) is also set to operate Israeli-made Searcher Mark II and Heron pilotless spy planes. The unmanned aerial vehicles are capable of sorties at night.

..The Southern Air Command of the air force, in addition to the deployment of mobile radar stations, has also asked for aerostat balloons - tethered radar systems - that will be deployed along the peninsula.

Look at the resources being put out!!..

(1) Searcher and Heron UAV's
(2) Khukri class missile corvettes
(3) mobile radar units near Rameswaram

The Indian EL/M-2083 Aerostat Radars have a range of 500km.

Once these radars are deployed near the Rameswaram peninsula - with a 500km range, the radars will give blanket coverage of Vanni, Jaffna, and Manner.

So technically the Indians can see absolutely anything taking off or landing in that region - the implications!!.. go figure :O)

For Inidan politicians, Sri Lanka is the research lab, Tamils are the lab rats.

Tamil Tigers set for blacklist

Cameron Stewart
June 01, 2007

THE Tamil Tigers are soon to be listed as a terrorist organisation in Australia.

Although the federal Government says it has made no formal decision to proscribe the Sri Lankan separatist group, also known as the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, preparations for the move are believed to be under way in Canberra.

Any govt listing tiggers as terrorist will also going to be hard on GOSL. its going to affect both sides.
A group who are lanka and not listed as terrorist group in their own country wont affect much directly. Tamils community living abroad have rights to speak about the humanrights/rufuges problem - Gosl or the new countries they belong to cant stop that. its their rights.
Tamils have to target GOSL, and leave tigers alone to do what they want to do.
