I don't know where you get the idea that Sinhalese hate Tamil & Muslims
You missed the point completely. He did NOt say or imply that Sinhalese hate Tamils or Muslims.
It is the Buddhist clergy that want Sinhalese to hate as
1. Extremist JHU declare that Sri Lanka is only for Sinhala buddhists and
2. According to mederate R M B Senananyake (Opinion Column, in The Island) that even moderate monks urge Ranil to support the fight against terrorism (killing, starving and kidnapping Tamils included). He also says it was the monks who opposed and sabotaged the agreements that the democratically elected Sinhala leaders signed with Tamil leadership to resolve the problem.
Please try to undertand first before jumping into premature conclusion.

If you are interested in finding what moderate monks and not the extremist JHU please read the contribution made by that RMP Senanayake(5/29/2007 3:10:59 PM)
in the Opinion colomn in the Island . If you want I can reproduce the lot.

| Nirupam, Mr. Senanayake can say what he think of monks. I have seen all kinds of monks in Sri Lanka, some corrupt, some are opportunist, and some work tirelessly for the people and Buddha sasana. One can not judge Buddhist monks simply by JHU or Mahanayake's of Asgiri & Malwatte. You will never hear of the good ones. |

What ven.Athutaliye Rathana says is that England is an English country.China is a chinese country.ThamilNadu is a tamils country & Sri Lankan island is a Sinhala country.Not a English or tamil country.It is very obvious that tamils are belonged to Thamil nadu & they are tamils from thamilnadu.So they must try to gain self determination in tamils thamilnadu not in sinhala peoples one & only island in SL. |

Good for headlines, I don't even think the Buddhists have any respect for these idiots. So why waste time.
How stupid can they be?
First they shout they do not want foreign interference but handover the proposal to all embassies.
Don't understand the English is a Language spoken internationally. That does not give a right to England hope all the burgers in SL are not lining-up in front of the British Embassy.
The also said the Buddhist should be the national religion. So if Catholics have a problem they better speak to the Vatican.
If Anglicans have a problem contact the church of England.
Muslims will have to speak to the King of Saudi, Ayatollah of Iran.
Who should the Hindus speak to? I don't know, someone help me on that.
