This is interesting.
Other than myself FIVE people (Musketeer, MaKaSo, AstroLTTE, Pera, ThinKing) responded to the article but NONE of them said even a single word on anything Sanjana had written. All of them wanted to talk about the finger that shows the moon.
What does this imply?
One-The Sinhalese racist camp is so bankrupt that they cannot come up with any reasonable counterattacks? All they can do is to question the person who raises the questions.
Two-They all know that white van terror is a reality. They all know armed groups collect ransom in Colombo. They all know the government is corrupted to the teeth. However, they do not want to admit that their beloved leader does this sort of things, because it was the same person whom they supported sometime back.
Very funny people.

Maybe he's telling the truth, may be not. who knows? I think we all agree that these people earn a living by using these Wars and other such issues. As many of the people pointed out here they have to show that they are really doing something to the doners don't they? Otherwise do you recon anyone will throw a bundle of money at these people to live a good life?
Why do you think non of the NGOs going at LTTE as they do with GoSL?
In my personal experiance I know atleast one of the directors(this happend about morethan 10yrs before but the guy is still a director of CPA)of CPA bribed to get his son admitted to one of the leading schools in Colombo. Not only that he created so many bogus documents to show that he lived in that area including registering his name in the voters registry for the area. So is that a right thing to do? or is it only when it come to them personally everything and anything is OK?
Speaking about myself why I didnt comment on the article it self, I didnt read it mate. I cant be bothered to! |

Do you call just a bunch of Sinhalese racists as 'people'.
Sarvodaya has presence in more than 11,000 villages in Sri Lanka and a volunteer force of (if I remember correctly) more than 200,000. (bigger than the entire vote base of JHU today) If 'people' do not trust NGOs why such a large numbers work for Sarvodaya on voluntary basis?
I think we all agree that these people earn a living by using these Wars and other such issues.
This is part of the myth that JVP/JHU crowd like to propagate. They know NGOs are the biggest threat to the so called Buddhist Taliban state they want to built in this land so they create myths of this nature which their followers will be able to use as and when the need arises.

Well, that is the problem in our society today. People reject reading anything against what they have in mind because it affects their thinking. They simply like to hear the summaries given to them by politicians like Weerawansa.
Perhaps you might want to change your handle to 'Listening' instead of ?Thinking? :-)

OK,
1. so if some one is against what NGOs (like CPA, FMM, NPC) does they are Racists?
2. I didn't mean orgs(NGO) like Sarvodaya and I'm sure you aren't that dumb mate! :) (Hope next you wont come up with an example like Dayaka Sabhava of a temple when the context is Peace mongers)It's a bad example. (out of the topic :I can remember in 80s(or is it early 90s?) sarvodaya volunteers were killed by LTTE 'cos they didnt want them to take the leadership of people.)

I wont go as far as saying ALL OF THEM are thugs(which is quite possible and I know a few who are but not know of many) but if they don't restrain a Thug that means they accept thuggery dont you think? Also I thought business CPA in is quite different(if not opposit to) what SLFP politicos are doing!
