Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) on Monday divested another 0.6 percent of the stake held in Dialog Telekom helping the market turnover to reach Rs.1.46 billion.
Dialog contributed to 84 percent of the day`s turnover with 46 million shares worth Rs.1.23 billion changing hands and the foreign interest in the stock helped the indices to record considerable gains.
The All Share Price Index gained 41 points to close at 2,612.56 points, while the Milanka Price Index was up by 49 points to close at 3,745.54 points.
Forty two million Dialog shares traded as crossings at Rs.27 and another 4 million shares traded between Rs.25.75 and Rs.26.50.
Malaysia Telekom has now divested nearly 4 percent of its stake in Dialog since last week, a move to add more liquidity to the stock. Brokers said Dialog`s buyers were several foreign funds and it has virtually become a foreign stock now.
`The fact that foreigners show such an interest in the stock and are willing to pay as much as Rs.27 per share show the confidence they have in Dialog,` Angelo Ranasinghe of Bartleet Mallory Stock Brokers said.
Telekom Malaysia (TM) last week sold 3.22 percent of its shareholding in its subsidiary Dialog Telekom Limited (DTL). The company through its wholly owned subsidiary TM International Limited, sold 233.6 million shares at SLR 27 per share on May 17, thereby increasing the liquidity of Dialog shares.
However, TM Group and DTL Chairman Tan Sri Dato said that the company does not intend to reduce its stake in Dialog to less than 80 percent.

If you think carefully, there is a good side to this.
If we exploit it correct. |

Incase you haven't noticed the puppet masters who run Dialog in Sri Lanka are Muslims. One of my Muslim friends is just a radio operator, but she told me that if I needed to get someone a job there, I could definetly tell her and ensure it. Oh the power!
But then again, the Maharaja Entertainment Tams are using Sirasa TV to do LTTE propaganda. Should burn it down. |

Why can?t she get a better job for herself if she has so much power, instead of being just a radio operator. (this is like a bold man selling hair growth medicine) |

Roshan2007,
Dr.Hans and Nushad are Executive employees of Dialog. Think who's there above them back in Malaysia AND in Sri Lanka? Muslims AND Tamils!! I think that's what Banmud meant. Edited By - kiwikanga - 23 May 2007 13:51:30 GMT |

Kiwikanga,
I will put the question the other way why they hired Dr Hans as CEO, and Mr Nushad and GM, and Dato Tan Sri as Chairman of TM instead of muslims.
till banmud can shows data to prove it, it is pure allegation. |
