May 23 (LeN) The United National Party says the MIG 29 deal that is about to take place might lead to a massive fraud as the statements made by the president and the defense secretary Gotabhaya Rajapakse are contradicting each other. The charges are being leveled against the government by head of the UNP media unit Lakshman Kiriella and UNP MP Sagala Rathnayake. They say that the public wants to know who is lying.

May 23 (BBC) The Norwegian government has denied media reports that nearly 700 passports have been confiscated in Thailand. In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Norwegian foreign Ministry has admitted that two people were imprisoned after they were involved in illegally purchasing Norwegian passports. A Norwegian policeman has sold nine blank passports to a Norwegian national of Sri Lankan origin, the statement said.

Looks like the SL ambassador to the UN has made a real fool of himself by mouthing lies about Norway.
It is mind boggling that a little rascal from a third world aid receiving poor country of Sri Lanka, ruled by a family of crooks and murderers has the temerity to make such a claim about a decent, rich and civilised first world country Norway, without any shred of evidence.
The Sri Lankan UN ambassador was probably trying to compete with the other clown, Rambuttan, in making wild accusations without any evidence. Norway's response is a real slap in the face of this clown representing SL at the UN. |
