when the LTTE stops fighting there will be no LTTE.

The only sensible thing the Ambassador has said. By extension, if there is no LTTE, there is peace. Instead of lecturing to GOSL on human rights and withdrawing aid, Brits should help the Sri Lankans to create peace by doing everything possible to make LTTE stop fighting. This can be done by implementing the ban on LTTE in UK with the same commitment shown against so-called Muslim extremists.

There you are your Excellency. Put your purse where your mouth is and forget about all that crap about the All Party Group for Tamils.

Greetings Abdul.

you conveniently avoided the very first sentence in this news article, here we go
The Security forces have been unwilling to take on the Karuna faction by using the rule of law, British High Commissioner Dominick Chilcott said

you cannot compare a recognized govt with a resistant movement. the govt has the responsibility for the law and order in the area they control. in other words, put the people first regardless of their ethnicity!!
if there is no LTTE, there is peace

the ltte syndrome will continue as long as the govt of SL continue to terrorize the innocent tamils in the name of safeguarding the territorial integrity .

ltte was not the cause for the 1983 massacre! was it Abdul?

there is a war and innocents are dying and sufferring which need immediate attention.

Hon Chilcott,

Referring to the north and east, he said that people have lost everything and this has to be recognized fully.

You are wrong in expecting uncivilised extremists to be reasonable or compassionate.

No point in advising the brick walls.

If you lift the ban on the LTTe they will see the logic and come back to negotiate but IC must guarantee that the SL govt honours any agreement thus reached. In the past all the 5 agreements SL govts signed are jettisoned.
They are:
1. BC -Pact with Tamil leader SJV-C in 1957
2. SC Pact with SJV-C in 1965
3. Indo-Lanka Accord with India in 1987
4. CFA with LTTE in 2002
5. P-TOMS with LTTE in 2005
