Berty Anna, I might be wrong but I have not heard about Tamil students getting wrong treatments in the University.
I can not do much about the thinking pattern of people or their political views. Everyone has their own way of looking at things and their way of beliving thiings. I think that is applicable for all of us, we have to ensure those things does not go in to the work that we do specially when that involves future of the country. |

I don't know about other universities, but when I was in Moratuwa University, the seniors and lecturers encouraged everyone to get along and get acquainted. The Sinhalese, the Muslims, and the Colombo Tamils all did that, and there were no problems except for feuds between Rahulians and Thomians from Matara. The Jaffna Tamils mostly mixed only with other Jaffna Tamils. And they even had problems with Eastern Tamils and Christian Tamils.
Most of the instigating at Moratuwa University was done by Jaffna Tamils. They didn't like joining the mainstream unions and clubs and even got caught hiding books in the library. And now they have the gall to pretend to be the victims. Sounds like a familiar pattern doesn't it? And then they publish all sorts of nonsense about Ethnic problems in Universities. Jobless fellows. |
