An army officer and his body guard attached to the Varani Base is missing on the way from Varani to Urumparai!

being missing is the worst. becasue there dependants can not have a death certificate to claim financial assistance.

This is a very pathetic situation because tamils living in other reas can't freely visit their relatives and friends in Colombo and subberbe. It is true LTTE can get advantages if security forces limeted their operations but there should be a practical solution to restrict LTTE actions in Colombo.

No salary for the next of kin! This happened for those killed in Mullaituvu in 1996! Only 7 killed, remaining of more than 1000 MIA. All money went to the Ratwatta's pocket!

As one diplomatic here who wished to remain anonymous put it ?As soon as you allow militias to work you contribute to the creation of war lords.? And if more ?warlords? begin to surface as a result of the freedom given to Karuna Amman it might eventually pose an even greater threat than terrorism.Who is a ?warlord?? A warlord is a person with power who has de facto military control of a subnational area due to armed forces loyal to the warlord and not to a central authority.

The search for Nowegian Sounthararajan Thambiraja should be called off immediately as he was seen running around in the Mannar region with a weapon.

Recently the Canadian government has warned Canadian citizens not to travel to the country.

The Department of Foreign Affairs? website lists a number of military attacks in Sri Lanka over the last month and advises Canadian citizens against travel to the country except for ?critical business or family business.?
