9 bodies of LTTE cadres recovered in FDL encounter, says SLA

Sri Lanka Army (SLA) said Thursay that they handed over six bodies of Liberation Tigers killed during firefight at the Vavuniya Forward Defence Lines (FDL) bringing the total to nine bodies recovered and lying in Vavuniya General Hospital. SLA sources further said they are seeking assistance from the ICRC to transfer the bodies to the LTTE.
The three other bodies, Tamil youth killed in a clash with SLA at Iranaaiilupaikulam on May 14 and two youths killed in a clash at Pampaimadu area on May 16 evening were already handed over to the Vavuniya general hospital, sources said.
Vavuniya Police said that during similar attacks by the SLA in Palamoddai and Mullikulam Thursday and Wednesday several LTTE cadres were killed and the bodies are lying in decomposed state.
No further details are available. LTTE has not commented on the claim by the SLA.
