The MIG bombers flew at a VERY LOW ALTITUDE causing panic among the villagers at Kar'na:n Kudiyiruppu, residents said.''

so tell me geezer .. with one MiG undergoing maintenance, and 3 flying - lets not forget this is corroborated by tamilnet on the 12th - what happens to the validity and honesty of the following tamilnet article:

For what ?
Forcing sinhalese poor pople to send their kids to the war won't bring any good result to the government.
First Germany and then great britain and now United states have decided to cut all fordign tsunami and other economic aides to sri Lanka.
sri lanka is being isolated by western countries and v ery soon japan and India.
If you ( nearly 140000 sinhala soldiers) can't beat LTTE of 8000 mighty soldiers what is the purpose of demanding and forcing poor sinhala people to send thier sons to fight against ^powerfull LTTE forces?
manioc sinhala soldiers can not face well disciplined and powerful LTTE soldiers.
why can't you all surrender now to LTTE.? |

that long posting confirms one thing, that is mig is infact being shot.
Why is that after the MIG was shot down the air strikes have stopped?

A MiG was reportedly shot down on the 30th of April.. The SLAF has only 4 MiG's at this moment in time..

My young protagonists.. if 1 MiG is undergoing repairs and 3 are flying - how many MiG's do we have??.. if both of you are magically able to obtain the number 4 .. If the LTTE claims to have shot down 1 on the 30th; that would give us 2 remaining in flight worthy condition.. are you still following me?? :)
So if 3 flew on the 12th - remember 1 is still in the flight sheds '' unserviceable due to minor defects '' - PRAY THEN TELL ME THIS.. what did the LTTE shoot down on the 30th??

Do any of you live in Sri Lanka?? .. if you do, then you'll know that the island was lashed with severe thundershowers that entire week preceding this mythical ''intercept'' event.. bad weather prevented further sorties..
However once the weather subsided .. the airstrikes began..
And once again tamilnet shafts itself by reporting on the 12th :

If a MiG was indeed shot down; now knowing that 1 SLAF MiG-27 is grounded.. from where did the SLAF muster 3 aircraft??

Colombo - A fishing boat transporting weapons and explosives for Tamil rebels has been destroyed off Maldives and at least four persons have been arrested, the Sri Lankan government said Thursday.
The fishing boat, flying a Sri Lankan flag, had initially fired at a Maldivian fishing boat on Wednesday night, prompting the crew of the boat to inform the Maldivian National Defense Force, which surrounded the suspicious vessel within their territory, a Defence Ministry statement said.
The crew of the suspicious boat had also fired at the Maldivian defence force boats and crew members had jumped overboard. But four of them have been captured, the statement said.
The Maldivian forces retaliated and the suspicious boat, identified as the Sri Krishna, exploded and burst into flames.
One of the crew members of the vessel claimed that Tamil rebels had forced them to transport a consignment of weapons to Sri Lankan waters, military sources in Colombo said.
The crew members have claimed they were Indian nationals and their identities are being verified, the military source said.
The Indian fishing vessel Sri Krishna disappeared with 12 Indian fishermen on board about two months earlier in Indian waters and the director general of police in Tamil Nadu, D Mukherjee, on April 27 said that the fishermen were abducted and held captive by the rebels of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE).
Military officials said that there was a strong possibility that it was the same boat which had been used to smuggle the weapons.
Rebels have made at least six other unsuccessful attempts this year to smuggle weapons through sea routes. In all these occasions the Sri Lankan navy had intercepted their vessels and destroyed the boats. |

Using what evidence are you making this assertion??
Answer this!!.. when the UNP was in power from 2001 - 2003, did Iqbal Athas report in favour of the UNP regime??
